Hunter got beat by O'toole
For those that don' remember, O'toole almost beat Manzano in highschool at the Adrian Martinez Invitiational to run a 4:01.89
I think this is O'toole's first sub 4 mile equivalent, could be wrong.

It is correct about O'Toole and had run nothing like this in past 18 months really.
Good for him.
Good for Hunter, who is a tough nut , closed well and first race in a bit.
3:40 plus race--- closed in 58

Heard there was gonna be a good 1500 with Hunter and a bunch of east coast college guys. Anybody there or have results?
In a post-race interview with Ryan Fenton on milesplit, Hunter called his run very "average" and a "so-so" performance. He said he was proud of the fact he fought the last 100.

I've always been a big fan of the guy's running but what's up with hat on backwards? Looks like a perfect fit for the the U of O.
https://twitter.com/letsrundotcom/status/723713690709712897Maybe I'm just getting old.
He beat Awad, interesting...
I feel like Hunter should be able to go 3:41.low, at least.
Why can't the best high schooler in the country win races? He seems to get a lot of press, but is always mid pack in his competitions.

Maybe because he's racing pros and top collegiates? O'toole has as much talent as anyone, Penzenstadtler is pro, and Awad was just 3rd indoors at the mile. Hunter is midpack with some extremely good competition. It looks like the NCAA will be right in his wheelhouse for competition next year.
I'm almost 70 and wear my hat on backwards periodically.
It keeps the sun off my neck, and sometimes I just want it that way.
However, Hunter doesn't look healthy in that photo.
So Hunter beats a bunch of studs, runs one of the fastest 1500s ever (only he, Ryun and Webb have run faster), and the thread title is about the two guys that beat him? Pretty messed up priorities.
I am pretty impressed that a high school run we beat these guys. The time was very good too.
most reasonable post on this thread. the kid runs essentially a 4:00 opener, HELLO!!!! he's going to destroy things at Pre.

Ran faster than Fisher and nearly as fast as 3:53 miler McGorty did out at Stanford. Drew will be just fine.
Could he be the first high schooler to have a season where none of his miles (or converted 1500s) is over 4:00?
Also, skinny guys with short hair cuts look like leukemia patients if they wear hats the normal way.
