Well, what do you think? Tactical sit and kick?

I was actually thinking about that while watching the race today. Honestly with the slow pace and conditions, he could have sat in the pack through 25k, gone with Desisa and Hayle when things got broken up, and kicked away from Hayle down Boylston Street. The race would have suited him perfectly.

Agreed. Pretty much same thing as LA trials.
Strong headwind. High pollen. NOT Rupp-certified.

Since he did not run: DNS
Q: What would Rupp have run today in Boston?
A: The Marathon.
First 20 or 25K before being a DNF.
What would a horse have run
What would a guy in a costume run
What would kobe have run
yada yada yada go home you're drunk
enough with the what would have happened if such and such lined up. Well they didn't you have no clue what would have happened. He could have dropped out in the first 5 miles for all we know.
Whatever it would have taken to win. No doubt in my mind, The Rupper would have been the class of this field.
He would have finished in the same place as that Japanese guy who went all out for the first 5 miles then got eaten alive.
Looks can be deceiving but did anybody else have trouble believing that dude has run 2:13? He looked stocky and like he was stabbing the ground with every foot strike.

Rupp would've run in the high 2:12's for 1st or 2nd place.
The OT marathon ended this meme. It was fun while it lasted.

Not sure about today. There's lots of traffic there now.
Good luck to him, though. Hope he doesn't get hit by a car
