I think it just depends more on what they are wearing. I know a lot of serious runners wear Nike too. They are just wearing the running stuff you have to go to a running store to get as opposed to XXL basketball shorts and cotton the shirt.
I've been seeing a lot of HOKA on here. What's so hobby jogger about HOKA? I have the Clayton 2s, and 4 out of our 5 fastest guys in track have HOKAs. They're designed to be 100% running shoes and one look and you can see it was done without concern about fashion.

All of the brands are for hobby joggers except the one I wear, which you probably wouldn't have heard of.

Also, I'm surprised no one has tried to say New Balance yet.

Serious question, anyone on this board ran in those? If so, what did it feel like? And,how did it affect (or is it effect I can never remember) your pace?

Nike.
How did Newtons get dragged into this? What’s wrong with Newtons? I like mine. Some Uber cool person please explain.
Most of the hobby jogger brands you mentioned are also worn by pro runners and college runners.
I have seen serious runners wear Brooks, Asics, Saucony, Mizuno, Adidas, Nike, New Balance. These companies cater to both serious runners and hobby joggers alike.
I'm surprised you guys mentioned Hoka. Doesn't Hoka sponsor the Northern Arizona Elite and produce gear for serious top-notch runners? Many hobby joggers don't even know about Hoka.
The average hobby jogger is just going to get a pair of colorful Nike or New Balance shoes that cost around $50. But varsity high school cross-country runners will wear them too, as I did when I was a varsity high school XC runner.

LOL. yeah who needs to hydrate on a 90 degree sunny day at 80% humidity running 12+ miles. ;)
Even on a hot day it's not hard to run for 60 minutes without a drink.
It's quite hard to run 12+ miles in 60 minutes though.

You were ahead of the curve here, my man. By like 5+ years. Champion definitely got cool again in ‘22 and remains cool today.
Can you read? They asked for brand, not brands. Pick one.
My experience is On - they are the absolute worst for actual running, but ‘cool’
Nike now. People trying to just break 2:00 in a half marathon are using the bouncer fly shoes with out trying to train better.
