My last marathon I weighed 165.2 on race morning and ran it in about 161.15 minutes. FWIW I'm 5'11". Obviously this is more attainable for taller runners.

Interesting stat. I'm guessing the WR might still be the first man to run 2:08, Derek Clayton, who was about 160-165 when he ran it.
I weigh in at 186 and ran a 2:49. So I got 17 on my weight.
I weigh in at 260 and ran a 3:48 so I qualify. So I have 32, I imagine I am the best.
Sorry, fatso, Derek beats you on the tiebreaker: he set an ACTUAL WR as well.

Derek is also real and not a troll.
As a youngster and oldster:
Age 23, 1974 Boston 2:19:15 = 139.25, weight 135 lbs
Age 54, 2004 Tuscon 2:57:45 = 177.75, weight 160 lbs
Igy

nope
2:39 (=159min) @ 180 lbs = 21 difference
I am tall though.
You are right, closer as a youngster may have been 140 lbs, but barely.

I am 155lbs and 172mins.
Do you guys think I should focus on gaining weight or running faster?
What am I doing wrong?!
Be thin to win....
I probably was 178-180 pounds when I ran a 174 minute 'thon.
Come on. Tall people have enough sports that were created to advantage them. Let average height guys have something (in addition to living longer and not bumping their heads on doorways).
155lb (5'9")
151 minutes
This past fall:
174 Minutes
Weighed 193
6'
The best I did was 78-minute 1/2 marathon (age 40, 6') weight = 160
This stat is totally sexist.

Well, 6'0" is average these days (unless you're Asian or hispanic).
