Goucher 3k this weekend

7:54 would be my guess, could be a good race.

With Kezes, King, Rohatinsky and the other Nike guys, I think it will definatly dip under 8:00. Achon paced McGrath for the mile last time, so maybe he'll pace this one out for 1500-2000m. Should be a good race; hope I can make it over!

What? Where is this

I'll be most interested to see how a certain Olympic and World Championship Finalist gets on in his first track race for a long time. Hood ran 7:53 on this track a couple of years back and could provide Goucher a good test.

University of Washington's Dempsey indoor facility.

While scrolling throught the heat sheets, I noticed the much wondered about Galen Rupp is entered to run the 5000m; hopefully he runs it! Here's some other notables:

800m-Mike McGrath

Mile- Nathan Robison, Cheseret, Richard Smith, a bunch of Oregon Project guys, and some good young guys.

3000m-Gouchers, Donelly, Kezes, Rohatinsky, Trafeh, McGrath, among many others

5000m-Cheseret, Dave Davis, Rupp (Caitlin Chock and Anita Siraki)

Hood? Where has he been? And Estwanik could be good to watch he had a big breakthrough in the 1500 last year. I guess this is a little better than I thought.

Richard Smith in the mile, interesting. I'd love to see him actually run it. He ran 4:15ish (memory failing) in high school and hasn't run the full thing since. I'm assuming he's the rabbit though.

Mindaugas Pukstas will run well. 7:59i/13:45i/28:35/2:14(Athens Olympian).

HA HA HA! Nobody good! Funny one! I have no idea what shape he's in but Hood has run 3:33 and made a boatload of major champ. finals? I guess that's not any good though?

Well, I'm sure glad I'm in the slow heat...don't fancy getting lapped, ya know?

Should be fun to watch, I saw Slattery, Goucher, and Donelly run the 5k two weeks ago; pretty humbling.

Know what you are talking about before you post. Estwanik for example ran 7:51 at this meet last year and finished 8th at the Olympic trial in the 1500m.

Kezes to run 7:59

Lyle Weese ran 13:38 last year for 5k and ran the OT steeple.

Hood ran the NYC Marathon in the fall, and then ran Canadian XC champs in December. Neither race was especially good, but then, he's obviously much more of a middle distance guy.

From what I can tell, he rarely races on the track unless fit, so I'd expect something decent. At the very least, I say he goes sub-8:00.
