Bummer. Always been a fan of the Black Cactus. Remember when FloTrack did those MTV Cribs kind of bits and they showed Abdi's? Dude was a goofball!

Yes, she did but, of course, only competed in 4 (no 1980).
Yes, but that's hardly her fault.

You left out Carl Lewis, Willye White, Jearl Miles-Clark, and Gail Devers who also made 5 teams....
Yes, and many of the mentioned have multiple medals. Abdi does have a black cactus or something like that.
Chris Chavez tells me he texted Abdi on Thursday and Abdi said the Arizona newspaper is incorrect. He does indeed plan on running the 10,000 at the Trials.

You sure about Miles-Clark and Devers?
Lewis was an obvious oversight!
I will grant you the Willye White, I had no idea!
Devers was in the 100h every time from 1988 to 2004 (along with some 100 teams, of course).
Miles-Clark is, I guess, a different story; I had read she was a 5-time Olympian (the USATF lists her as one), but I guess in 1988 she was one of the relay alternates (I didn't realize that until right now), so she didn't actually compete.
Well, my original statement was right. But far from complete!
