Keeping in mind that there is no such thing as "one favorite song/band/etc", mine would go something like:
I say: Pearl Jam (which I actually really do like)
...but I would prolly rather listen to Counting Crows 9/10 times.
You?

RUSH
Anything but opera is my standard answer.
Friday by Rebecca Black.
I am not saying I never lie but why the hell would you lie about that? Do you care that much about what someone else thinks about your music?
My answer to both: Blues Traveler but I listen to sports radio much more than music
Oh didn't notice the double question. The truth is What What (In the Butt) by Samwell
I usually say something about Coltrane and Charlie Parker, and some of Charles Mingus´s early stuff. But I actually only like the work of Richard Marx and ¨Home Sweet Home¨ by Motley Crue.
Nah, not a lie, you misunderstand me... I DO like PJ & most of the 90's grunge stuff a lot... It is my teenage stuff, so close to my heart... If I don't have have music handy, I will pine for some Jeremy, or some Lithium by Nirvana, or some Green Day... But, when I actually have the iPod handy, I am more likely to turn on Anna Begins, or Some Better than Ezra, or something like that...
What what in the butt is great, tho, lolol
PS- Conquer Me is extremely underrated...
PPS- add Barenakes Ladies to my list of bands that I forget that I like
It's really Pavement, The Cure, Talking Heads- ya know, indie stuff. But for the sake of being relatable, I go with the standard answer of The Beach Boys. No one dislikes The Beach Boys.

This is such a good idea. James Carr doesn't go over so well.
We're probably close to the same age, and when I was, say, 14-19 I would say Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Sublime, etc. Now that I'm 37, I would say probably stuff that separates itself from everything else but is interesting to me. I would say live Grateful Dead, the Lumineers. Houndmouth, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Grace Potter, Phil Lesh and Friends, etc.
If my hand was forced and I had to pick a favorite band of all time, I would probably say The Band or Sturgill Simpson.
I always answer "anything that's not in 3/4 time." And would you people please stop putting 3/4 time songs in your Spotify 180 beats per minute music collections? I cannot run RIGHT-left-right, LEFT-right-left, RIGHT-left-right, ...
Headline questions answer: Early Rock and DooWop,
I'd have to say balladeers live in the heart of my heart and perhaps more specifically female balladeers.
Favorite group/band : The Grace Wing Continuum from Great Society to Jeff Air and on thru to Cathy Richardson
The GOAT of female rock voices to the greatest female rock voice today.
Answer: Anything but rock, metal, and techno
Truth: Anything but rock, metal, and techno
Why I also like a dose of Cher

Nordic metal
50's rock and roll (Elvis, Chuck, Little Richard, Platters, Jackie Wilson, various rockabillies)
That's about it. Only guitarists got better after the 50's, everything else got worse. Particularly nearly all the singers are posers. R&B and soul singers are skilled but emotive, making them as unbearable as opera or gospel. Rap and hip hop don't count as music because they don't sing. I don't have a truck so I can't listen to country/western.
The best band that has ever existed is called Finntroll.
Darude - Sandstorm
Just kiddin. Simon and Garfunkel. Just about all 60's music.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
