Oxidative stress isn't aerobic work.
Oxidative stress is essentially an imbalance between the production of free radicals and the ability of the body to counteract or detoxify their harmful effects through neutralization by antioxidants
Its not aerobic training its training anaerobically actually. Oxidative is good/bad for the body. If you do a workout where significant amounts of oxidative work is done you will in turn damage aerobic enzymes. But you will also have extraordinary improvements in your bodies anaerobic ability. The key is to find the balance between anaerobic/aerobic training essentially. This is also why we build an aerobic base. So we can in turn do oxidative workouts and not damage our aerobic systems to the point where it is detrimental to our performances. This is why you don't see people doing only tempo runs, or only 800/1600 pace work. It just doesn't work and the benefit doesn't outweigh the cost.
