As much as I am not a Mak fan.. some of this stuff is making sense. What comes to mind to me is Alan Webb's low 12.X 100m surge he ran in the 2005 world champs final. Of course no one was expecting that at the 800m mark as opposed to the 1200m mark when Mak did it, but both are runners with a more muscular build and have the ability to just hammer that gear change, hence the immediate break open.
I also agree it looks like Mak ties up down the home stretch and really doesn't celebrate until the last 15m. Probably busted all out from 1200-1400 then just ran in on adrenaline over the last 100.
Still not a fan, but reading the splits he ran and everything it really isn't that unconceivable what he did...
