Not the wisest decision, even if 1500 field was still stacked with Hassan and the other ethiopians. She can't touch Dibaba and Defar.

Has Defar confirmed her spot at 3k for worlds?
Of course Dibaba and Defar will be tough to beat but I'm not sure if there are any other tough competitors announced for the 3k so perhaps Rowbury will have a good shot at one of the 3 medals
Also the 3k is a good event for her at this time so that she can continue working on the endurance aspects of her training as she builds up for the 1500m at the Oly trials
Maybe she is gambling that Meldonium will provide another slot for a medal by next week.

Haha, you may be right! Or at least that maybe some favorites have at least back off the good stuff, making them more human.
Did she not talk with Dan O'Brien? If she had, she'd have known that she's far and away the best 1500 runner in the country.

3k running in March is a smart approach In her build up to being the best USA 1500m runner at the Oly Trials.
Based on last year, she has the potential to fulfill that goal but it will not be easy
If are you in our prediction contest, you'd be very smart to change your pick now:

Here is proof that she's out.
@ShannonRowbury
Racer in me wants to do 1500m tonight, but now I'm focused on giving myself the best shot at bringing home a medal for @usatf team.
I thought your picks were final as of 6:55 EST yesterday!? You can change them in the middle of the contest if the event hasn't been run?
I don't see why not run it. She ran the 600m last night. 2400m light jog followed by a 600m sprint. It didn't look very taxing. Couldn't she just run it for the championship and focus on one event for worlds?

You can guarantee that AlSal called for special Meldonium tests. Shannon was too hot to run.
You can guarantee that you are an idiot

Shannon made her 3k win look so easy. It was very apparent that she is far superior to the athletes in her race
and she said in her interview that she basically ran "a hard 400" which means that effort took nothing out of her
Martinez also dominated the 1500m but I personally think if Shannon had decided to do the double, she would have one both.
If you compare the last 400m splits between the 2 race winners, Shannon actually closed faster and that was with her letting up near the line.
She also looked pretty fresh after her win
The person who totally lucked out in the 1500m was Corey McGee.
I was hoping Amanda Eccleston would have made the team as her performances this indoor season are far superior to McGees
Changing Your Picks: The first event (women's 800) closes at 6:55 pm eastern on Friday.. You can come back and change your picks until then or until your event starts if it is after that. To change your picks for a particular event, you must reselect 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for that event in the radio boxes, even if some of the picks in this event are the same as you had before.
