he should just go pro. there is no point in him staying at oregon. his double is impressive (DMR far more than 5k), but his 5k was probably 30-40 seconds away from his current fitness. the 3k tomorrow should be fascinating.
also hope this is the end of people scratching individual events for the DMR.

What about getting his degree from an academically rigourous school?:)
He could go pro and get his degree at the same time.

This has been covered on here many times. He won't go pro yet because among Kenyans, he is nothing. He is trying to burn time while waiting for US citizenship.

The reason he would stay at Oregon is gratitude. And, he really is enjoying the college experience. I believe he was quoted once saying he was going to stay the full 4 years.
That could of course change.
We're kind of seeing the modern Rono.
Witnessing history, and great athletics.
Man or woman, what is the most championships by a single athlete?
I'd imagine something in swimming.
I don't think he necessarily needs to go pro. He has a great support system at Oregon and if he gets citizenship, then he could foreseeably make the Olympic team while in school. I feel like he wouldn't even change coaches if he went pro, and the only difference would be the money. I'm not sure if he's all that interested in the money anyways.
Better to go pro as an American than an average good Kenyan
