Who's your pick for the NCAA Indoor 5k-Seidel or Ostrander?
Also- is the record (15:12 set by Emily Sisson last year) out of the question or do you think it could go down?

saw Allie was scratched from the mile at conferences, hope it wasn't injury related. If they are both at 100% should be a great race.
Should be a great matchup. I'm going with Seidel.
Can't wait to see the race. I think Molly will make a move with 1600m to go and throw down a 4:46 final 1600m to go sub 15:10. If Allie can hang on, she has better speed, but I don't think she has the strength to hang with Molly if Molly makes it fast and does a long move to the tape.
Allie can close in 4:46, Molly will have to make sure it's fast before that last mile.
in fact i think she already did close in 4:46 at washington
Allie closed in 4:38 at MSPF
Not sure who will win, but definitely rooting for my girl Molly S.

No she didn't.
on the dmr, yes.
whatever the meet she was in last week in the DMR, she ran 4:38 for the mile.
If I had to bet and you gave me even odds, I'd put my money on Allie O. I wouldn't feel very confident about that though, it really could go to either of them, should be a great race.
I think that if the pace goes out fast, the meet record absolutely goes down.
Beyond just the NCAAs, I think this is shaping up to be one of the strongest years in history for American women in the 5000m, and it is remarkable that these two youngsters have an reasonable shot at Rio (depending how their outdoor season progresses, of course).
I think this race goes to Molly. Beyond the NCAAs, I don't see how either of them can extend their season that long (the Olympic Trials), but especially not Allie.
I love Molly, but if I had to bet, I'd pick Annie for 5K, Molly for 10K.
It all depends on which one can lose the most weight over the next week. It is a disgrace that athletes are rewarded for this type of behavior.
Yes coaches you are being judged.

Without knowing what they are doing that's an opinion, but maybe not an informed opinion.
If they haven't been doing a lot of specific pace work/interval/speed training, and if backs off racing until the big invitational meets then they should be fine. The crunch, however, are conference, regional, and NCAAs within a month. And then the trials.
Either way, they could be in the low- low 15s or under by May or so. Indoor NCAAs but more likely something tactical and in the 15:20s or 15:30s range.
Throw in Erin Finn and you have less than 300lbs between three of the top four. Feel kind of bad for Anna Rohrer having to run among them.

Agree.
Emily Sisson, last year's 5K winner, set a much healthier example.
The waif runner typically doesn't have career longevity.

I agree. This is a battle of the stick figures. What message does this send? On Flotrack there is an article about this match up and then there was this:
http://www.flotrack.org/article/40020-phoebe-wright-weighs-in-on-eating-disorder-awarenessfrom Phoebe Wright. Ironic much?
Molly is an amazing athlete, if she had an eating disorder she would have gotten injured or would have not been able to run consistently at a high level like she has since she won NCAA 10k.
Also, when an athlete has an eating disorder she looks unhealthy/unattractive. Molly has very good muscle definition, so I doubt she has an eating disorder.
Stop it! They will take the thread down! You don't call Rupp or Mo anorexic. Every vein in their body is showing. Wright needs to keep her opinions to herself. She's an 800 runner and if she lost 10 lbs she might be able to hang.
