I see McGorty doing his easy runs all the time around here.

1:58/1:55 splits
Izaic Yorks is an interesting athlete. Great at xc, great at track, looks so muscular, doesn't seem like he should be that fast but DAMN
300m track, so really that's like a 4:06, right?
Those are some spectacular marks.
Damn they might give Haney and King Ches a battle at NCAA's unless they both blew their load running these fast times right before NCAA's. Should be a great battle.
Yorks right now is more similar to Alan Webb coming out of HS (1:47 and 3:53 PRs) and muscular builds.

Oregon has a good history of peaking for NCAA's, UW not so much. Stanford better. Still some very fast marks coming into the meet, there will be no gimme.
Exciting to see Garrett Corcoran and Zach Perrin both break four for the first time.
306m, so more like 4:10.

I would not have expected such incredible marks from these guys so soon. McGorty was of course a great prospect, but 3:53i as a soph without being dragged there by five pros? How much has Yorks improved? And pretty cool to see that you can go to Cal St Northridge and still get down below 3:59. Where were these coaches when I was growing up? Nice work.
1 Yorks, Izaic SR Washington 3:53.89! 10
2 McGorty, Sean SO Stanford 3:53.95! 8
3 Zouhry, Anass SR Cal St. Northridge 3:58.87 6
4 Perrin, Zach JR Colorado 3:59.00 5
5 Corcoran, Garrett FR California 3:59.79 4

3:52.98 Chris O’Hare’ (Tulsa) 02/16/13
3:54.22 Don Paige (Villanova) 02/16/80
3:54.54 Miles Batty (BYU) 02/11/12
3:54.56 ————Lalang’ 02/16/13
3:54.74 ————Lalang’ 03/09/13
3:54.89 Ryan Hill (North Carolina State) 02/16/13
3:55.02 German Fernandez (Oklahoma State) 02/28/09
3:55.09 ————Lalang’ 01/28/12
3:55.0 Tony Waldrop (North Carolina) 02/17/74
3:55.11 Nate Brannen’ (Michigan) 01/29/05
In a year the U.S. could easily have three underclassmen 3:50-53, not even including Ches.
Who will be the underclassmen Haney,Hunter,McGorty????? think McGorty and Haney will be juniors next year but I could be wrong??????
yeah. his legs are FATcrazy

Given his 800 and 3k marks it seemed like Yorks was ready to pop a big mile. Seems like it's his best event and he should do it and the DMR at NCAAs.
McGorty will likely do the DMR and 3k. If Ches is tripling, the 3k isn't going to be easy. I'm assuming Knight will be fresh in the 3k.
Yorks was actually a better prospect than I said. He ran 1:50/4:04. In college, his pr's were 1:48/3:42.01/3:57.81. That's still a four second drop after he improved markedly in xc to 30th and earlier ran a 23:15.
This puts Fisher's fitness in perspective. He outkicked Yorks in the 3k a couple weeks ago with both of them closing in 4:04. I bet Fisher could run 3:53i now too
