What do you think of her decision.
Selfish? Unpatriotic?

Right on, Trevor
After checking other tweets with the same hashtag, I've come to the conclusion that Dunbar is just expressing his joy after a job offer from Ernst&Young.
I'd be pissed if I was some Greek chick who had a shot at making her national team and now had her dreams dashed by some interloper. It would be like if Kenyans started moving to the U.S. and... oh, wait. Never mind.

Except... Africans in the US actually move to the US, speak the language, engage in the culture, live and train in the US...
Alexi Pappas = mercenary. Not gonna sugar coat it.
Is she the one that claimed to tell off the President?

He should have that looked at
Millions of American First Responders and U.S. Marines gave up their lives for the freedoms and liberties Alexi enjoys to choose which Olympic team to run for.
If she can really speak Greek, then she has the potential (through her multi-media talents) to grow the sport a bit over there... more power to her. Kind of a win-win because she will be more successful and she has the opportunity to grow the sport over there. She doesn't have a great chance to make the team here, so she's more successful, and it doesn't really hurt our team in any way. I cannot recall anyone caring too much with Aisha Praught did the same thing (to Jamaica) a couple years back.
I can't find any results whatsoever for distance runners from Greese. Looks like their 2015 world championship team consisted of 10 athletes (mostly field events).
Fastest 5k runner is mid 16s OuranÃa Reboúli and her 10k is north of 34
Seems like Greece cannot event field a team as of now.
No greek chick has qualified, no worries.
Love the name though.
And Greece sends all of the athletes that qualify...
Already stated my support in another thread.
We are all dealt different circumstances in life. She is using an opportunity available in hers.
If you wish ill on her because she is likely to go to the Olympics and be a non factor near the middle or back of the field then you need look at yourself and get help.
exactly this. Some people are just weird.
Someone goes to the olympics after qualifying and "fans" of the sport wish them bad.
Weirdo.

She doesn't speak Greek, will stay in Eugene, and her 10th place finish in the qualifying heats at the Olympics won't do shit to "grow the sport" in Greece. This is all about what's best for HER, not anyone else. But hey, she can get an Olympic tattoo.

What are you're feelings about someone like Mo Farah? A native of one country, who converts citizenship to run for a different country they adopt, who then permanently changes residency to a third country to avoid paying taxes in their beloved adopted country, and who rarely trains in their native, adopted or residency country.

Mo Farah never changed his citizenship for running purposes. He runs for the country he culturally identifies with, and that had the most impact on him.
I have no problem with it if she has a legitimate connection with the culture and country and a desire to connect with her roots and help grow the sport in Greece. I do have a problem with someone simply county hopping for the sole purpose of running in an Olympics. For example Carmelita Jeter's brother started playing for Ukraine in FIBA tournaments with absolutely zero connection to the country in his past. To me that's not what representing a country is about. If the culture of the country is something you take pride in and is a part of your history growing up, then I say go for it. If not, in my mind you're missing the point of representing a country in competition.

Right. He's an American because of who his parents are.
Um, ever heard of kosta koufos?

I'm a Republican and I agree completely. You shouldn't run for a country you have no connection with just because you technically can because of parentage. I think it is unpatriotic and a hollow accomplishment. If I the Greek Olympic committee I wouldn't want her running for us.
