Why are we analyzing the words of an emotionally comprised and physically/mentally exhausted woman who just spent 2.5 hours running hard in the sun?
"Journalism" aside, is this even worth it?

Rojo--these message boards are your turd-filled sandbox. You and brother built it and you revel in it.
If you aren't discussing "ham-sandwiches," you accuse someone of sexism: "particularly given the fact she's a woman." How disingenuous, how sophistic can you get?
Emotionally, Goucher is a spoiled little girl who lashes out at people she's already testified against. People who had nothing to do with her failure to make the team.
There's a reason you load up your website with links to the British press. Because, like them, you have no decorum or journalistic principles. You're a 1st Amendment maggot of the highest caliber. You use LRC as a marketing tool for self-enrichment, and you use it to spread your petty dislikes and unproven suspicions. Rupp should sue your ass off for all of the innuendo and anonymous slander you've directed at him. You asked Goucher muckraking questions that had nothing to do with her performance, you got an infantile response, you posted it, and now you're defending it...what a joke.
The worst thing about LRC is how it's lack of standards has the effect of smearing and stereotyping all competitive runners. People come to the site and they see the content on the message boards, they see how nearly every thread deteriorates into adolescent name-calling or insults. At a certain point, the histrionics seem representative, though it's more a reflection of you and your brother (and your sand-box playmates), than it is of the sport.
Agree completely.
Also: Nike shills have been deployed.

Lots of Kara haters out there.
It does remind me of the crap Lemond took when he made his numerous accusations against Lance Armstrong.
No problem with Kara's rant. If you don't like it, don't agree with it.
It's interesting that you bring up LeMond since he was as doped up as Lance (not to mention their feud also had a business aspect to it). So are you admirable if you try to skate on your own doping while bringing down someone else?

Was that the most graceful way to answer a wildly inappropriate question? Probably not. But I would like to see all the whiners on here try give a non emotional, pc answer after putting your body through a grueling effort only to come up gut wrenchingly short. I will continue to be a huge fan of Kara's after today. If she is right or wrong about this, only time will tell, but she has heart and isn't afraid to stand up for what she believes in.
It's called emotional intelligence, and she lacks it. People love to use the word "emotional" like a blanket excuse for terrible behavior. Yet others actually are able to control their emotions in an equally stressful or disappointing situation. This was NOT the place to sh@t in the punch bowl. Are we trying to kill this sport? If there's something up at NOP it will come out, but come on have some intelligence and just say that this wasn't the place to discuss that.
I'm I the only one who read this and started singing...
"The goose is getting fat, please to put a penny in the old man's hat."
Seriously, hasn't she learned to keep her month shut post race? Why doesn't Adam wisk her away?

We've heard this before. I don't believe her this time. Kara needs her share of attention now that she can't get it for running fast.
Congrats to Hastings, Desi and Shalane.
She should move to West LA or Beverly Hills so she can whine with the rest of the folks she's married into. She's picked up their whining behavior (whenever things don't go their way, attack winners as cheats, project your guilt and poor behavior). lol
Kara is awesome. She ran an amazing race after a long layoff and she is a strong woman with a message the fan boys don't want to hear.
She continues to call out the people she believes are hurting the sport even that is a very hard thing to do and it costs her PR points.
What an amazing woman.
Remember what lance did to Betsy Andraue (sp) and look who has right in the end.
She is unhinged.
Sore loser & an embarrassment to track & field.
Please just go away, Kara!!!
Find some other way to get all the attention you crave!
Kara ran a hell of a tactical race. I'm guessing most of the angst on this thread is because she completed the race, and finished in a VERY RESPECTABLE fourth, as opposed to the DNF w/ tears as predicted. Honestly, I hope for the sake of the sport that the NOP is clean. But it's definitely a "bad look" to suggest that an outspoken woman has "crazy eyes" just because she crushed your PR in the 5k en route to a marathon finish in bad humidity...

The last couple of Kara defenders are totally missing the point. It's not that she's calling out the villainous NOP or that they're jealous that as an aging mom, she just ran a really good race.
People are bothered by the timing and repetitiveness of he comments. She comes off as a poor sport who is stealing attention from the six athletes who just made the US Olympic team by dredging up hot button, sensationalist media issues.
This. Cringeworthy.

Kara owes her career (and her endorsements and share of Oiselle) to AlSal's taking charge of her and Adam.
You must be extremely retarded. She came in 4th today. Hate her all you want but she ran her best race in a long time. She missed the Olympics by less than a minute on a trying day.

The official response from the AlSal legal team was damning to the Gouchers
If you're as illiterate as Salazar, maybe.

Douchers! That's high comedy right there.

Brojos, I have a lot of respect for you guys, but stop taking her bait. And yes, I predicted Sean Quigley as the surprise in the top 10.
Her "bait"? They were basically eavesdropping, you idiot!
And gee, can I suck your dick for your call on Quigley? Or at least offer you a lazy handjob?
STFU
How is she a poor sport? She didn't lose to anyone in the NOP.
I also fail to see the plausibility in the claim that discussing a doping investigation, especially one regarding someone just won the men's race, takes away from the other finishers, none of whom are NOP members.
Rojo, Wejo, you guys run a great gig, and I love this website.
But work on your interviews. When getting this many interviews all at once you should have a prepared list of questions, and you should think of how you will say them.
Yes, questions will change after the race due to results, but think before you speak, your interviews are awful.
Nope, please don't feed the waterfowl.
Strictly speaking Goucher is right: The USADA is still investigating and justice is coming. No real news here.
I'm just wondering what Goucher will say if the USADA finds no wrongdoing by NOP which I believe is highly likely. Everything I have read on this story points to Salazar doing exactly what he said he would do with NOP. That he wouldn't dope but he would do everything within the bounds of the doping rules to give NOP athletes an advantage.
