Kara Goucher unloads on Alberto Salazar, Galen Rupp and the NOP - "Justice is coming."

This is similar to a reporter going into a locker room of the losing football team and asking a question you know will push their buttons and get some sensational answers.

Kara is just not professional with handling media. Can you imagine a seasoned vet like Lagat or Meb mouthing off like that in public? Good riddance Kara - this was your last shot at the Olympics and I hope you fade away from any relevance in the running scene. Hope to God you don't get into TV commentating.

I don't mind her talking about all of the issues with NOP but today wasn't the time. And I don't like all of her crying.

Absolutely correct. If Salazar and Rupp had never gotten onto the dope train, none of this would be an issue at all. Rojo might be a terrible reporter, interviewer and journalist but he got this one on tape and deserves credit for that. Goucher is just telling us what she saw and knows, and Rojo is enabling that. I hope that they keep the pressure on NOP and get this mess cleaned up.

The interview was unprofessional only to the extent that the interviewer asked a question that was horribly, even indecipherably phrased--and that Kara, understandably, could barely make sense of when it was first posed (the question about whether she was herself on drugs when running under Salazar).

There's no other way around it. When you've been in the game this long, you've got to do better--and you've got to be able to take criticism about it, too, rather than just respond defensively to every post on these message boards that isn't pure praise.

More importantly, it's dishonest to construe this pushback against Kara as an issue of people wanting canned responses over "honest" ones. The issue here isn't whether Kara is being honest. The issue is that Kara now seems races simply so that she can have a platform, after it's all over, for voicing her displeasure with Salazar and rallying people against him. And there comes a point when this is, yes, simply corrosive.

Thanks for the context. Can you please ask her why she feels she can share her conclusion but not any details ? I don't care about when she speaks or the emotion. I am bothered by the fact that I could not say what she is specifically alleging. As far as I know, there is nothing stopping her from sharing details. Lots of people did that with Lance. If they did wrong, tell us what it is. Until then, no comment please.

I'd say that coming within a few seconds of Shalane cracking and almost making the team is more than simply having a platform. She cries and whines, but she had guts today. She should keep on voicing displeasure with Salazar until he goes down for what he's been doing.

Also... stop crapping on Goucher for answering the questions. Time and place? No. But crap on the interviewer for asking them at this time and place if you have a problem with it.

Whether Salazar's guilty or not, the Gouchers have exposed themselves as an embarrassment to the sport. If you're going to bring down a group, don't get caught lying, and at least present some evidence.

I used to like Adam but he seems to be losing it, or struggling with depression. Kara is a bitter loser, and seems to try and get her name in the media as much as possible so she can get a book deal, or a spot on The View. They really come off as extremely unlikable.

I understand that keeping the integrity of the sport alive is very important, but the Gouchers are clearly going about it in the worst way possible. Get these two away from the sport.

Yes, I think everything she "knows" did come out in the BBC documentary. Either that or David Epstein is a terrible reporter. I'm sure Epstein published what he felt couldn't later be found to be blatantly false. He either had to corroborate her statements or simply publish her opinions and hope that her involvement in NOP gave her opinions credibility.

I think Salazar thoroughly refuted Goucher's allegations and her opinions on what she knows about how running works are of little value at all to those that know running.

From Epstein's ProPublica report: "USADA spokeswoman Annie Skinner says the agency doesn't confirm the existence of ongoing investigations, but adds, 'We aggressively follow up on every report'." So is Salazar under investigation? If so, is there ever a time he is not under investigation? Rupp was drug tested 28 times in 2013, the year that Tyson Gay actually tested positive for PEDS.

I don't doubt that in the future Kara Goucher will "tell us so" but I'll be surprised if it is anything of substance or anything we haven't heard from her before. I'm not going to hold my breath on USADA "officially" releasing anything resulting in major sanctions on NOP ever.

No, you don't "understand that keeping the integrity of the sport alive is very important." The integrity of the sport no longer exists. Why should it, when so many so-called "fans" take out their butthurt on those who have the audacity to point out the obvious? There's zero incentive for USATF or any other governing body to change a thing. It's pathetic how the runner with the most balls in this sport is female.

They may be dirty, but I don't understand the idea that Goucher is clean in all this. She was with NOP for years in what was allegedly a thoroughly corrupt program. She and her husband had their best career performances as part of the NOP, including a global medal. But she is clean. That strike me as the most difficult thing to believe. At least Floyd Landis had admitted he was dirty when he was accusing Armstrong.

You are exploiting someone who is clearly in a highly vulnerable state. You seem to be thrilled about it though. Hope it's worth it.
