All those people had world class talent. Cragg does not.

Next time Cragg and Flanagan should hold hands together as they cross the finish line. What a feel good story that would be.
Sort of like Kenny Moore and Frank Shorter did in 1972?
Great for her, she is easy to root for
I was OK with it, but started to worry about a possible DQ. Not sure what could cause that, but thankfully nothing did.

This is why I don't like watching woman sports. They are more about encouragement and not hurting others feelings instead of competing. The woman's race was unbearable to watch. I don't know what your talking about. This. To a common occurrence at all in women's marathons as your response implies. The reason it struck me was because I hadn't really seen that kind of response from a teammate before in race. It has nothing to do with being male or female.
It was another runner caring deeply about her teammate and doing whatever she possibly could to help her while she was struggling. It was beautiful.
Have you never watched professional cycling? This happens all the time. One team mate helping another team mate. Today was only the trials not the Olympics. It did not matter the place as long as they finished in the top 3. You need to think outside the box. By helping her team mate, Cragg guarantied that she has a training partner for the Olympics.

This girl seemed to care more about her training partner Shalene Flanagan than herself. I was kind of choked about it actually. She kept talking her through when Shalene was really struggling, pretty cool to watch. New big fan of Cragg.
Watch a video of the 1968 Olympic 1500 meter final and watch a future gold medalist sacrifice his race so that his teammate would win gold.
That was a great teammate.
Hint: They were from Kenya
Sometimes in sports we see great displays of human kindness and personal sacrifice for a better result. Any Cragg rose above the cynicism today. I'm grateful to have witnessed it.
Was Cragg wearing an ice vest or a compression vest at the press conference after the race?
It looked like the mother of all compression bras.
???

are you kidding? let me google that for you. his name was Cathal Lombard, and he's an utter douchebag. pretty damn sure that you'd never find Cragg (either of them) doing drugs, both standup people.

"pretty damn sure" lol I guess that's that

Handed her a water bottle.
That's a DQ by the book.
Spend some time with him. I've spent a fair bit, and a lesser amount with Amy. both class acts, the sort that I'd likely bet a few years wages on them being clean. Can't say that for everyone in the sport, but certainly can for those two. Would you say that for Rupp?

Definitely borderline DQ. That was obvious assistance. She grabbed 2 bottles and handed one to her teammate. At what point would it be going too far?

Not a DQ. Competitors are permitted to aid each other by sharing water. Competitors are not permitted to accept aid from those outside of the race.

Marathoners do it all the time. Ritz passed his bottle to Estrada yesterday. I've seen it happen in previous trials races, as well. Marathon comraderie.

Cragg did good sure but remember that it wasn't complete self sacrifice - she wanted a trading partner for rio...if shalane dnfs then cragg is solo for an August peak.
Not to diminish the coolness of cragg but she had self interest too.

Shalane should have motioned Amy to go on and run your own race, but was too selfish. Very disappointed in Shalane. I was a huge Shalane fan before this. No so much now.
