With a recent life change and some long term injury problems I've reduced my running to 30 min sessions a few times per day. The goal is to try to get in 2 x 30 minutes per day (breakfast and lunch or right before dinner). I was thinking if every other day (Tue-Thu-Sat) I ran hard for one or both of those 30 min sessions (hard running, hills, fartlek, etc.) that I could maintain some decent fitness and keep the weight off. I come from a very high mileage background and would love to stay in the low 15-min range for 5k.
Anyone have any experience with this?
