I had Rupp, Meb in the correct order. The rest of the picks I honestly can't remember. Would love to see the results.
On the women's side, I had Misiker first (she didn't start), Shalane second, and "OTHER" for third. Or something like that.
Misiker was a confirmed entrant, so don't know what happened there. It was worth the longshot, IMO.
So only 2 contestants have the math skills to even attempt scoring their picks? We need a system that doesn't total higher than the combined number of fingers and toes.
Final score- 184... Ritz, why? Could have had a perfect top 5... Respect to you guys around 200 and above
1. Rupp (115)
2. (X) Ritz
3. Meb (39)
4. Ward (14)
5. Puskedra (14)
6. (X) Kibet
7. (X) B. Curtis
8. Pennel (2)
9. (X) Estrada
10. (X) Chelanga
Will wejo ever compile the results? I think Florida had quicker election results in 2000.
50+10+5-4=? wrote:

I don't think math skills are the issue (or, rather, are the only issue...). There's no way I can see to access a record of my picks right now, and who can remember, for example, whether they picked Curtis 7th and Eggleston 8th, or was it Curtis 6th, Arciniaga 7th, and Eggleston 8th, or was it Curtis 6th, Llano 7th, Arciniaga 8th, and Eggleston 9th, or . . . You get the idea.
(Also, in my specific case, we had an office pool going separate from the LetsRun contest, and I intentionally made a few different picks in the two contests, and I can't keep my picks straight between the two.)
slo-twitch wrote:Your Rupp pick is worth 115 and Meb 65- (they give the example in the rules that picking first dead on is worth 115). So I think you are over 200 for sure. I didn't add up all your other picks. I'm thinking Definitely tshirt level, maybe bordering on gift card
Thanks for the feedback. I now see that line giving the 115 example. I have updated my men's score here with a breakdown:
TOTAL 203
2:11:24
1 Rupp (115)
2 Meb (65)
3 Puskedra (9)
4 Ritz
5 Llano (4)
6 Biwott (4)
7 Ward (1)
8 Eggleston
9 Estrada
10 Arciniaga (5)
and it appears a perfect score is a 290:
1 115
2 65
3 45
4 30
5 10
6 5
7 5
8 5
9 5
10 5
You get 14 for Puskedra. 10+5-1=?
Did I Calculate Correctly? Thanks!
MEN:
1. Galen Rupp (100 +10 + 5) = 115
2. Dathan Ritzenhein XX
3. Meb Keflezighi (25 + 10 + 5) = 40
4. Luke Puskedra (15 + 10 + 5) = 30
5. Craig Leon X
6. Brendan Martin X
7. Christopher Zablocki X
8. Nick Arciniaga X
9. Shadrack Biwott (5)
10. Sean Quigley (5)
Total Points = 195
WOMEN
1. Shalane Flanagan (25 + 10 + 5) = 40
2. Desiree Linden (50 + 10 + 5) = 65
3. Kara Goucher (10 + 5) = 15
4. Sara Hall X
5. Serena Burla (5)
6. Esther Atkins X
7. Clara Santucci X
8. Adriana Nelson X
9. Brianne Nelson X
10. Alana Hadley X
Total Points = 125
You are within a couple points- the only thing is when you add the 5 points you also have to subtract 1 for each place difference (so your Meb pick is worth 39 not 40, also Biwott and quigley aren't worth full 5 unless they finished in those exact places). I didn't do the math on your women's picks.
Interesting choice with Alana Hadley in top 10.

Thanks for the corrections. And, oh, I thought Alana would surprise...haha
Haha, this whole math thing is hard... I think subconsciously I don't like the rule about getting 100 + 10 + 5 for a top pick since it feels like double dipping, but I'll take the extra points I guess.
That gives me a final total for my men score of 208.
That also means a perfect score is actually a 300.
Is Update? Presumably, they'll have an automated program to tally the results. Or maybe not since it is taking a while. They've hired a team of accountants to figure this out?
