My soccer season is starting up this week.
I'm trying to do a marathon at the end of the month as well.
Let me get my priorities out there - soccer is more important to me than running.
I used to only have games Tuesday night but now they are Tuesday and Friday.
I'll try and try and do something longish/hard on Sunday through the marathon.
The soccer games can be pretty tiring but with subs and what not, it's not that much running so I need to try and do at least one workout during the week. The question is when is it best to do it?
If i'm only doing one workout mid week it seems like my options are either.
Tuesday of Friday in the am do a workout and play a game that same night. Or Wednesday the day after a game workout, or Thursday the day before a game.
So it would be:
Sunday -long and/or harder
Monday- easy
Tuesday-??? + soccer
Wednesday- (could workout)
Thursday -could workout
Friday-??? + soccer
Saturday-easy
Looking this I think a Tuesday workout and soccer after a long hard effort on Sunday would be too much.
I think working out Thursday or Friday is probably better than Wednesday. I think working out the day before a game would be better than the day after (Wednesday) as my ankles take a beating in games. Not sure if it's best to get all the hardstuff on one day or go back to back- Thursday/Friday.
