Daughter is a Junior looking to continue to run at a DIII LAC while studying Biology/Environmental Science and History. She's focused on highly selective LAC's in NESCAC, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest. She's a great student and a very committed developing runner:
Academics: 34 single-sitting ACT, 4.22 GPA, National Merit Yes (Level TBD), Very Strong Course Rigor with 5 AP's, will graduate with 8 AP's, 2015 Siemens Competition.
Running: only started in Spring 2014 and continues to PR every season in both XC and Indoor/Winter Track. 5K XC PR 20:54 at Darlington with season highlight of 7th place finish in her race at 2015 New Balance Shore Coaches Invitational in Holmdel. Indoor Track 1600 PR of 5:53 at 2016 Big North Conference Championships at NYC Armory (all times this winter are under 6:00). Spring 2016 Outdoor Track 1600 goal of sub-5:45 and Fall 2016 XC 5K goal of 20:30. Will be captain of XC Team in Fall 2016.
She has completed some questionnaires and emailed some coaches, not all yet, and has gotten responses from 2 top NESCAC programs - she will email rest this month. Understanding that she's not a top-4 runner, what's the best way for her to express her interest as she isn't looking for a slot, just wants to know that she can contribute as she's continues to develop as a student athlete.
Suggestions appreciated.
