Wow. Funny how this isn't getting more national attention. Manning is pure scum.

It would seem if everybody's on it, you better believe the top guys like Peyton are the Lance Armstrongs of the league. I seem to recall when Seattle won the Super Bowl a few years ago they also had the highest number of drug violations. Coincidence?
Peyton is the NFL's Usain Bolt. No way the dude will ever be sanctioned. Ever.
That is scummy. Was rooting for Denver, now rooting for Carolina to blowout the Broncos.
it's pretty amazing how easily the NFL manages to make these things disappear from view.
evidently money talks...

I agree. What is the big hubbub?
-Even if he did use HGH, he was out of the league. He was recovering from neck surgeries. He may have had a prescription. That is none of our business.
-So what if his wife was receiving HGH? That's none of our business either. For all we know, they as a couple were utilizing it to help with conceiving.
-Why does him using a PI to track the source of this story make him scummy?
- Do people really think using HGH when you're 35+ years old is going to be used as a PED? It's going to be used for healing, and conceiving, or any number of other legitimate uses. It's none of our business regardless.
Anyone with real intellect and understanding of PEDs role in sports knows Manning took HGH. It kind of bugs me that he's acting like a thug and answerin questions S if he's untouchable. It's funny how the NFL is sweeping g things under the rug and his all the idiots dismissed the story after the source recanted it (because he was threatened by Mannings goons!)

Also was the HGH illegal? I thought it was part of the new collective bargaining agreement but they had yet to decide on testing or penalties. So until it was definitive the HGH issue is a non issue. Can anyone clarify?
I remember hearing a story about Manning going to Germany for stem cell injections for his neck because they were illegal here in the states. This was right around the time of his end run in Indianapolis.
Not defending him or his said actions. I could care less about football. Those guys are all nuts in my opinion. Think of all of the hits Manning has taken in his life from Pee Wee, High School, College and the Pros. Human Piñata for 30 years

Yeah! The word "thug" should only be used to describe those darned negroes!
Good point flabby. We don't know for a fact that the packages were HGH, only that she received a package from the clinic (which is a HIPAA violation anyhow, so they should sue the clinic and it's source for that). Based upon the fact that they had fraternal twins, would indicate his wife may have been taking fertility medication (the historic rate of twinning is 1 in 80, but due to the use of fertility drugs, that rate is now about 1 in 30). Given her age at the time they had their kids, it would not be surprising if they were having fertility issues. If someone (and let's face it Al Jazeera isn't exactly the most reliable source) were libeling my name and costing me money, I would hire a PI as well and go after every single person I could. Let's face it, it's not like Peyton's got the most powerful arm in the game, most of his game is based upon his ability to read the defense.
At the time of the accusations, HGH was not banned by the NFL.
Also, if someone said you committed a crime (rape, assault, etc), and you did not, would you not be pissed off and aggressively proclaiming your innocence?
you got beat by peyton and cant handle it. i'm willing to bet you also want to see Hillary in the white house.
Why would I care if a non-athletic position is using performance enhancers? Does HGH make you read defensive plays better, or improve your field vision?
Everyone on the field is using drugs. The person I am least concerned about is the QB, because the real effect is on all of these god damn minotaurs actually doing the tackling.
Do you think Peyton Manning is going through yellow pages looking for a PI? He's worth millions and has his name on the line.
Whether or not he's guilty the reality of this situation (what is being described as scummy) isn't unethical. Manning becomes aware there is an investigation of his HGH use by Al Jazeera and he assembles his "camp" (Ari Fleischer isn't scum). They explore their options, one of which being hiring a firm to get more information about the accuser - who then contacts a PI. Definitely not the brightest idea, but doesn't necessarily mean Peyton personally called a PI to intimidate someone.
the good thing is that the FBI has confirmed it is investigating.
not sure if that's supposed to be snark or not... one of the main performance enhancements from high HGH use is significantly improved vision (acuity, depth of field, peripheral). That is one of the main reasons for it's prevalence in baseball.

What's the big deal? It's not like he deflated balls or anything.
HGH has been illegal in the NFL for a while. Rodney Harrison, for example, was suspended for 4 games in '07 for admitting to having used it to recover from an injury.
What is recent, as of the middle of last season, is testing for it.
Coincidence or not, right when the testing began Manning's stats took a dive. The most common comment being he looks old. That has continued into this season.
