Last year I had to take months off due to shin splints. Unfortunately, I wasted this time and did not do any strengthening exercises. For the last few months they've been creeping back a bit at a time and after an overly-exuberant run two days ago, now they hurt even when I'm not running.
I'm signed up for a half-marathon this weekend and a full in 7 weeks. Should I skip the half or ignore them and run anyway? It's probably too late to get them checked out medically this week.
