I think it is important to note that Bernie is getting slower. He has lost like 10s off his 1500m and probably 20-30s off his 5k (hard to say since when he started running them he was past his peak.)
Maybe it is doping, but with a large enough pool, you will always find some outliers with respect to age who take another couple years to fall to fathers time. You see this in all sports where some guys are done at 30, others at 35 and a few hang on til 40. Who knows how much is genetic and how much is training.
