I've been asked to relocate to a different region for 2 months to help build that region and then come back to my current office after those 2 months.
I'm relatively new to the business world (3 years) and new to this company (almost 1 year), so I'm not quite sure how to ask for a raise. I feel like this is the perfect opportunity to do so, but since it isn't permanent (I turned down the permanent offer), I'm not sure if I can ask for a raise based on the "temporary" relocation.
I'm tempted to say, "here is the job description I was hired for and what I'm actually doing and what you're asking me to do is way more of a senior type role, so can the compensation be the same?" However, I'm not sure that is the most elegant way to say it or if this is the appropriate time.
Any insight would be great. Managers/directors/higher ups - Is there a good way to approach this?
For what it is worth, I have not set world records in the 5K or banged tons of women on the side or make 500K a year...Hopefully that doesn't disqualify me from posting on this board!
Thanks for your time and thoughts!
