Time, and being a member of the (genocidal) white race. True Americans are still strongly discriminated against overall.
A lot of USAns distrust all immigrants. If they came as adults, it is usually very easy to tell they are immigrants. Their children born and raised in USA, tend to behave as USAns in mixed company, but also fit in when in the company of their ethnic peers. Second generation born in USA fits in well, but still may be discriminated against on basis of family name if there are still a lot of new immigrants from their grandparents' country. But, being white is still important.
It also helps to have good ethnic restaurants, but the quality of these diminishes if that particular ethnic community does not have either a continuing influx of new immigrants, or has a large local tradition. "Italian" restaurants in Southern California tend to be mediocre, but there are still a lot of good ones in east coast cities. Chinese restaurants in USA usually aren't that good, but if there is a vibrant Chinatown not far away the odds of being good are much higher.
BTW, the percentage of people who identify as Christians in USA, that are radicals who not only believe in killing people by the millions, but act to carry out those beliefs, is well over 50%, at least if one goes by the results of recent US Presidential elections and the entire US history of almost constant war.
