A question for DIII college runners

top teams are doing as much as the best d1 teams. Top runners will exceed 100 mpw. Your team is about average.

Nationally competitive (d3) program. Most of our top guys are over 60 for 800, 70 for 1500/mile, over 80 for long D. Obviously it varies weekly and by person. 55 is quite little unless you are an 800 or speed based 1500 guy. But again, it will vary by the person.

I run for a top 20 team and our best senior guys are putting in about 95-100 mpw. juniors maybe 80-85. sophomores are 75-85. freshmen 65-75.

My college does 250 mpw. we run about 2:16 as an average in the indoor marathon, so yes, you should do more mileage

Top 10 (at the time). A couple guys hit 100+, a few 80-90, most people 70+. Anyone peaking in the 50-60 range was probably a freshman still building up from lower mileage in HS. 50-55 is fine for the immediate future but you should have a long term goal of running more than that.

We're an average team, top 15 at our region. We have 2 guys who are national contenders that put in 70-80 mile weeks, the majority do 60-70. 800 group is very speed based, not much base. Maybe 30-40 mpw.

I get by just fine with 60mpw and im pretty decent

I have a very competitive conference. Last year the top 800 guy ran a 1:50. My school is a small school so it could be more competitive but it is serious. I'm the top guy on the team and I hit a max of 80 mile in 6 days during Xc and for track I hit a max of 70 but that's prior to season. Right now I'm probably hitting like 50-60

My team only does 50-55, but 1/2 of those are Smirnoff miles. Quality over quantity.

My question for you: Why do you want to run D3? D3 doesn't matter.

Topped out at 85-90. was slightly above average for my team (top 10 at nats my junior and senior year). Was also probably my teams only pure 10k guy. Would say all of our top guys (baring those who were super injury prone) ran between 70-90
