For the past two years, I have been using Adidas Energy Boost 2.0 as my racers from 5k to marathon. Their weight is light enough to make me think I am in flats, but the cushioning is great for an old guy like me. Now Adidas has splintered them into a couple of new models so I am unsure what to buy. My main criteria is for longer races (half/full) and something I will only use for racing and a very occasional workout.
My daily trainers throughout the year are Brooks Glycerin or Ghost, Saucony Ride/Triumph ISO, and a Pegasus mixed in. The main thing for me is the soft landing, mostly due to age. Any help from folks who work in running stores or have other intel is greatly appreciated.
