Was a bit surprised to say the least to see a track meet on ESPN2.

Nice team format designed for TV presumably.
My question for old Arkansas fans. Would his meet have been sold out in the McDonnell days or is that wishful thinking? Very few people there in attendance.
I take it back. It started an hour ago.
was that last mile slow? minus the front runner?
maton running right now? sub 4:00?
Solid coverage, though probably too much emphasis on the team race from Dwight Stones, per usual. Like the analysts and new(?) interviewer guy on the field as athletes seem to like talking to him.
this mile is slow too...
LADY NAMED MATON in woman's invite mile, who finished last.
Very early, M.Maton looked like he was in 4th gear just to keep up. Like someone said- either overtrained or sick.
Well, yes, the vintage Razorback days in the barn were standing room only. The stands were on the infield in the backstretch, and people hung over the rail to yell at you. As far as crowds go, Doug Clark was the master at drumming up a scene. All this talk about flat tracks or oversized tracks kind of makes me laugh at times. Consiglio, omara, reina, and falcon all ran significantly under 4 on that flat 200m track with the overused bathrooms in the lobby. I think we all look back to that old track around the tennis courts with some fondness of memory. Truth be told though, it was a house of pain. The new track came long after my time, but am quite sure John would have worked his magic there just as well.

4 1/2 hours was televised Sat afternoon live on the SEC network as well as streaming on ESPN3. You saw a taped condensed version.

Wejo, ESPN2 televises a lot of T&F, both indoor & out. Also believe ESPN owns SEC network.
Jess Squire does a helluva job of compiling a "track on TV" listing.
