Has anyone ran in these spikes and have an opinion on them? How do they compare to older models? Thanks.

Hi, I am a 5k/10k runner and steeplechaser.
I just got these spikes a few weeks ago, and I ran some 400s at 70 pace in the spikes (I have not raced in these yet). This is my first pair of Adidas spikes that I have used; prior to these, I used Nike Matumbos, which I liked very much, but they were starting to rip. The Boost spikes are very bouncy like all of the Adidas boost shoes (I currently train in the Glide Boost), but they still offer some rigidness, which can be attributed to the full length spike plate. The mid-sole is very substantial and the spikes are 1 oz. heavier than my Matumbos, which I thought would be a problem. However, I can't really feel the difference on foot, and the 'sringiness' that the mid-sole offers is definitely worth the extra weight. The boost mid-sole and the full length spike plate is a great combination because it offers the cushion and flexibility that is expected of a standard long distance spike (which is nice at 5k pace), while, at high speeds, offering the rigidness that is expected of a middle distance spike. For me this is the perfect combination.
This spike does have some drawbacks, which are mainly fit and stability. I have a narrow foot (narrow enough to where I buy B width shoes when I can), and these spike are way to wide for me. My Matumbos scrunch a bit where the tongue meets the toe box, which I was O.K. with, since most shoes I have owned do this. However, these spikes scrunch a significantly more than my matumbos did. However, after fiddling with the laces for 30min, I was able to adjust the shoes to my liking. My Matumbos were also much more stable than these spikes. I think this has a lot to do with the shape of the spike plate in the forefoot. This was not a major issue, but the spikes felt kind of shaky compared to my Matumbos.
Overall, I would recommend these spikes because its versatility offered by the soft and springy mid-sole and the stiff spike plate (800m-10k). However, people with narrow feet should be weary of the spikes wide fit.
They're ok. The spike pattern could use some work to maximize traction.
