Futsum just ran 4:05 in Nau converted to 3:56 amd he is a US citizen. Does this new speed mean he can beat ches and also is he a darkhrse for the olympic trials!

I made a thread about this earlier:

Does he even plan to run the Oly trials?
really hope OP isn't serious. 3:56.9 converted and you talk about olympic trials? Ches could probably break 3:50 in the right situation

To be honest i dont think will win, but considering someone like ryan hill, was in the mix in the 5k in 2012 and even made the team in 2013 I think he could be up there. And keep in mind hill posted similar times non converted.

Please STOP with such ridiculous statements. Cheserek got destroyed last summer in a 1500 in a "right situation". What is wrong with you, man?
Cheserek's race:

Which Olympic Trials?
"Conversions" don't mean a thing.

Screw You....
While Ches breaking 350 is clearly hyperbole, he did easily defeat a 355 man in Soratos at NCAA indoors last year. He ran that 15 you mentioned at the very end of a season where he was likely focusing solely on 5k/10k fitness, as those were his race distances. If Cheserek had run a mile all-out last indoor season, I imagine he very well could have gone 354 low/mayyybe 353 high. And he's only gotten better since then, so who knows what he could do now, or esp. with some more shorter distance-specific training.
Why is no one interested in Futusm he is such a talent, almost beating Ches in footloker. People also forget that he was serious about his training until his junior year. If he continues this momentum I can see him doing very well this summer.

I guess the wannamaker mile isn't an all-out mile...
Definitely a dark horse. Why not keep citizenship in Eritrea? Easier to make the Olympics.
3:36 converts to roughly 3:53. I think he would be hard pressed to break 3:50 as he would need to go through 1500m in sub 3:35.
Could happen if he got into 3:32 shape.
This thread should be titled "Futzum Zeinasellassie runs a CONVERTED 3:56.92 and USA CITIZEN". I get that the conversion makes the time a lot faster due to altitude, but when I saw 3:56 I got really excited until I saw that it was converted from 4:05.
Haha at least it wasn't a conversion like the ridiculous one where the Air Force dude who ran a 4:09 was converted all the way down to 3:59.
still slower than justyn knight

NCAA conversion is 6.02 thats a 3:58 conversion.
Bill Bowerman urinated on Phil Knight.
To Soratos SHOWED us that converted times are legit

So what does Keino's 3:35 in Mexico City convert to......3:29 from 1968?
Why is there a sweeping conversion by NCAA when NAU athletes have a clear advantage.
Does the NCAA conversion work in REVERSE for sprints & jumps where altitude/thin air gives a clear advantage??????????
