Is it disrespectful to get a tattoo of something on your buttocks?

Serious question: would it be considered disrespectful if I get a tattoo of the Boston marathon logo on my butt cheek after running the marathon this spring? Qualifying and competing in the race is crossing off one of my biggest goals on my bucket list and I want to commemorate the event. I have nothing against tattoos, but I'm just personally not a big fan of seeing people with big colorful ones. But would putting on my butt be considered disrespectful to the race itself? Because that's not what I'd ever want to do. If it is disrespectful, does anybody have any better ideas of a good concealed place?

Tattoos jumped the shark a decade ago. Though I must admit, your case demonstrates an interesting psychological pathology where you want to permanently write on your body, but in a hidden area. You are proud of something, but yet want to hide it. What do you suppose that means?

If you want to commemorate the race, buy a baseball hat or a jacket at the expo. Better yet, buy some running shoes for an underprivileged track team. Let that thought commemorate the race for you. Who knows, you might even change some kid's life.
