Can he do it?
Can he do it?
I'd be surprised if he's in that shape at this time of the year.
Absolutely
No, but he will be around 4.02. Will definitely break 4 later in season.
probably looking to break Alan Webb's indoor record in the same venue, so I'll say he is going to do it. That means sub 3:59.8.
probably.
Yes, also when is the meet happening?
Webb is done
Hall is done
I don't think Ritz will make the Olympics this year and we'll see his retirement soon.
I'm ready for a new flock so I REALLY hope so.
As of now we've got:
Donavan Brazier
Drew Hunter
Grant Fisher
Matthew Maton
I'm sure I'm missing a few too.
The El Nino/global warming fueled snowstorm bearing down on the DC area will cripple his running for several days. Likely 2-3 FEET of snow out where he lives.
Knowing Drew Well,
he will make shoveling the track at his school part of his workout.....
Im not kidding...He did it last year.
He has a nice treadmill in his basement if he needs it.
What meet is he attempting sub-4? Not listed in the NB Games mile this weekend vs. elites: http://www.armorytrack.com/gprofile.php?mgroup_id=45586&do=news&news_id=390240
Hunter is a beast, it wouldn't surprise me to see a 3:59x, especially with all those big names in the field. That being said, I don't think he has the wheels right now. I'm thinking 4:00-4:01. We shall see-
Don't forget sprinters. Michael Norman for the win.

Webb looked like he was 30 his senior year of high school...his training...but more so his physicality allowed him to accomplish what he did. Drew may be the closest thing to Alan than we have seen in HS distance running. I wouldn't be surprised if he runs 3:59, but to run that on an indoor track in January might not be the best thing for him. I predict he will run ~ 4:02, which would still be an amazing feat indoors and would set him up to break Webb's record at the end of the indoor season.

Michael Norman is legit, but a guy who gets overlooked who I am pulling for is Izaiah Brown. He is a frosh at Rutgers and split 45.16 FAT his junior years at NBON.
I feel Maton and Hunter are products of higher mileage and more intense training system. Fisher has more raw speed and more room of improvement.
This is what I'd like to think - if you took these 3 young talents away from running for a year. No physical exercise whatsoever. Then do a time trial mile. Who would win? Fisher. Every time.
For the last time, Hunter's training is not intense.
Agreed ... Drew is training like a pro athlete... A blend of all of it. Tinman is one of best coaches in the country; the improvement is based on strength not gut busting workouts; the kid totally handles every workout ..never over his head.
