Great article by Goe. He really gets the runner's personalities out in his work. Check out this quote from Centro.
"Track record," Centrowitz quipped after his race. "Facility record, Northwest Portland record – a lot of records today."

So...Rowbury ran 8:53.52 for 3000m, Hasay ran 4:49.88 for 1 mile.
Based on this meet, it looks like there's still an ability gap between Rowbury and Hasay. Rowbury's time is 1.07435 of the world best, while Hasay's time is 1.12732 of the world best. For Hasay to have an equivalent performance by this measure, she would need to run 4:36.25.
Meanwhile, Centrowitz ran 7:55.25 for 3000m, which is 1.06522 times Haile's 2nd best mark, 1.06822 times Daniel Komen's world best.
A good start overall for Team NOP (considering Hasay is coming back from injury). Hopefully this will springboard them to some medals for the USA at Worlds!
On a side-note, I was really happy to see them running the mile instead of the 1500 at this meet.
Pretty random system you've come up with. I don't think these numbers you've come up with mean anything.

Anyone have the splits at 1k, 2k and 3k for centrowitz and Rowbury?
What has changed with NOP? Galen can't even break 4 in his hometown last year, farah beat by Heath recently, levins off the grid, 7.55 for centro (paced by solares)...what gives? Are we seeing racing from these guys without the cutting edge gray area supplements?

Give it a rest. Release your hostility towards the NOP. You'll lead a much happier life.
Hasay ran around the same time as an 8th grader as I recall
not one shred of hostility, man. these are previously performances that would have been part of a workout for them.
3:44 final 1500 for Centro? That would be very good.
Probably ran them as workouts...or at least hopefully!
7:55 3k split for Centro.

Surely there must be an error in the results. #4 and #5 on the women's list are 6:20+??

This is exactly why the elites were mad about colleges moving to the mile. They fear they will now be compared to high schoolers and rightfully so.
Are these meets open to anyone? If so, that is a sad lack of interest in indoor track. I would be thrilled to run on that track.

Exactly. I'm sure it was a workout. And yes, you are being hostile, or at the very least passive aggressive with your unsubstantiated "grey area supplements" comment. Man up and own your words. We all know you weren't being nice when you said that.
Like I said, give it a rest.
" or at the very least passive aggressive with your unsubstantiated "grey area supplements" comment. "
Hasn't NOP said they're all about grey area, and that they just don't do the illegal stuff?

Ironically I think the previous poster converted her 1500 time. I don't remember Hasay running around 4:50 for an actual mile as an eighth grader. I could have missed it though.
I don't have kilometer splits and I've since cleared my watch I had on the races, but I remember a few things. Rowbury went through 1600m in 4:51. Hasay had dropped out a little before that. She started hitting 35s splits after that point, for the most part. Closed in 32.xx. Centro was hitting 31s splits for the first half, but he fell off late, hitting 32 and 33 second laps.
Did Alberto give all of them nice massages after the event?
