Al Sal?
Not Al Sal. Any adverse findings will result is a flood of pro-AlSal lawsuits. Gag orders and such. It will take a long time to unravel anything against NOP. The amount of money at stake, and the amount of money backing NOP, means a powerful fight will happen.

Maybe not. Usually in cases like that, people get thrown under the bus and heads roll. Nike would likely plead ignorance and Al would take the rap. Unlikely that anything involving nop is mentioned in this report.
I have seen nothing to indicate this is about NOP but lots about how it could be about Kenya? Where is the Alsal stuff coming from?

I think we know now. We're just going to get different versions of the same story. Most top level endurance runners cheated and the IAAF knew and didn't do anything about it.
We know about Russia, we know that Kenya failed to have an adequate program to catch any dopers, and once you've got that number of athletes getting away with it, it's probably a free for all.
The debate from UK Athletics that we should wipe all records and start again is saying we've been through an era (like cycling) where it wasn't possible to be at the top (in running) unless you cheated. Have they had a heads up of what is about to be announced?
I'm still laughing that the IAAF would see a score so high that it says the athletes health is in danger, and they would send a letter informing them their health is at risk but no ban.
Carry on cheating but please don't kill yourself.
BBC journalist just said that it's expected that the IAAF council of 12 which included Coe in his capacity of vice President, knew of the extent of cheating and failed to act years ago.
El Guerrouj?
Coe and Diack to be led out in handcuffs later today?
A little preview for readers of French:
"To me" , recapped M. Ashenden, "track and field is in the same diabolical situation that professional cycling was in twenty years ago."
Cant be as bad as the NFL and AFL situations rampant abuse
More corruption probably which can mean anything. One mans corruption is anothers payment for services or commission. The easiest charge in the world to make .
Hopefully it will focus on Kenya/Jamaica doping systems or total lack of . Unlikely though
How hard is it to put in place an international standard anti doping programme in each country testing all athletes at major competitions and that meet certain standards ?? Cost ? What the hell have WADA been at in the last ten years ? Writing reports and taking instruction from their paymasters ??
Think the whole thing is blown out of proportion and vis Russia totally polictically driven . Professional sport such as NFL , AFL, MMA , tennis etc gets away with it all just because money talks.
Athletics is an easy target.
Unless there is proof of wrongdoing and people are banned, it will not be all that bad in the long run. Without that, there is always plausible deniability.
Russian cover up went all the way to Putin.
"The leader of track's governing body told a lawyer he'd need to cut a deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin to ensure nine Russian athletes accused of doping wouldn't compete at 2013 world championships in Moscow, according to a new report on the scandal that reached the top of the sport and country."
and
"It concludes there was no way members of the IAAF Council, which included current president Sebastian Coe, could have been unaware of the extent of doping and non-enforcement of the rules in track."
I can be pretty cynical at times, but I think I have not been nearly cynical enough with regard to this story.

Nike funded PED use in Kenya??
I really thought this part would only focus on the corruption at the higher levels of IAAF and that the only scalp it might get that we didn't know about already was Coe's. Maybe it's bigger than that, though...

It is in the AP story linked above.
What a load of tosh. WADA and Pound are in the US pocket and will write whatever they are told
. Russia is the political enemy and sport is a useful tool for adding to the dirt thrown.
LR.com should have enough common sense to cop this.
I await to see if Kenya and Jamaica will also be banned for not having any testing whatsoever , however unlikely this will be...
