Looking for a good flat for upcoming 5k-10k road races, and need ideas. Been looking at Saucony Type A6, Nike Flyknit Racer, and some others. What's the shoe for me?

asics hyperspeed
I'm not about that Asics life
asics piranha
That shoe would probs fall apart halfway through a 10k

It wouldn't.
Nike Streak LT 2. I haven't tried the 3 yet, but assuming it's just as good

asics hyperspeed. dont knock them. OP, working late in BDX?
How about the Flyknit racers. Any thoughts?
The Flykint Racers have a pretty firm midsole compare to the Streak LT2. I like them both, but I'd say that the Streak LT2 is a much better bang for your buck for a pretty comparable shoe ($80 vs $150).
Any 5k-10k racing flat search should include the Newton MV3 (Or Tri Racer, same shoe, basically). Free Shipping and free return shipping from Running Warehouse... what's not to like?
Another vote for the Asics Hyperspeed.
I have the new balance rc1400v3, nice and light, comfortable and responsive.
Here's my opinion on the flats that I've worn for racing and also training (ranked in order):
1. New Balance RC5000: Best racing shoe, fits like a glove on my slightly narrow foot, perfect balance between responsive and flexible, impossibly light.
2. New Balance RC1600: Best training flat, just a bit more cushion and durability than the 5000.
3. Nike Streak LT: Best bang for your buck, fits a bit narrow.
3. Mizuno Wave Ekiden: Accommodates a slightly wider foot, durable, great all-around flat for training and racing.
4. Saucony Type A6: Great all-around flat, but the cushion seemed to be a bit "dead" to me, compared to other flats.
5. Newton MV3: Not a bad shoe to log some miles in once the lugs wear down, seemed weirdly "bottom heavy", wouldn't want to race in these shoes if there were sharp corners, doesn't "handle" very well.
Haven't gotten around to trying Adidas or Asics yet.
Adidas Hagio/RC... but of course they got rid of it
Hey!
Selecting the right pair (or pairs!) of 5k Running Shoes to optimize your race is important. It is essential to find the best-fit considering factors such as the individual’s foot type, biomechanics, race, and training goals, training level (from weekend warrior to elite athlete), weekly/monthly mileage, and speed. Now is the perfect time to find your best shoe before races start up again, hopefully in a few months. There’s time to test and try shoes out on varied surfaces, research shoes, and talk to fellow teammates or training partners before you commit to purchase. I’ve found quite a few nifty running shoe discounts online as companies desire to increase profits and sales turnover in an unstable economy at present.
In my post, I review and break down the engineering of the Nike Vaporfly ZoomX Next%, Asics Lyteracer TS 7, New Balance 1400v6, Adidas Adizero Takumi Sen 6 and Saucony Type A9, and explore some other opinions. To continue reading visit
