Well, yours wasn't a statement, you asked "How do you know they are bad?" .. and I'm asking you how YOU know rape and murder are bad?
Oh, careful now yo'.
If you try to make some argument for your god based on this idea, it'll bite you in the a$$. How many aspects of the moral code in your bible are "essentially the same" the world over?
The answer is very few. Rape, murder, .... honor your parents and even THAT one's sketchy. How many of the OTHER standards of moral code in your bible are NOT "essentially the same" the world over?
Do you REALLY wanna go through all the rules and regs of your bible and see how many are consistent across culture?
As for "they are not relative" .. you completely fail. Of course they're relative. I pointed out that already, and of course you pretended I didn't.
Your bible commands 'thou shall not kill' and then your god promptly commands people to kill. That's the very definition of relative. it's not an absolute at all.
if it were, it was talk about when, specifically, people are to be stoned to death.
So you're suggesting your god gave people the same moral code he gave moose? But not ducks, who routinely rape. Or lions, who routinely kill. or, of course, jews, who he specifically commanded to annihilate other people.
it's far more reasonable to simply understand that collective, social creatures live, generally, by structures that support and built that social collective. And those that don't, don't fare so well.
Even WITH your god, they're completely relative.
How quaint.
So the slavery of the time, which we know was horrific, he didn't say a single word against?
How was your god speaking to christian slaves at a time christianity, indeed, christ, didn't exist?
