Bible and slavery wrote:
It is the ancient Isralites themselves who were the first victims of brutal, un-Biblical slavery at the hands of the Egyptians, who enslaved them out of racist hatred. This is the closest such thing to African slavery we see in the Bible. And how did God respond to this slavery?
With mercy, as He raised up Moses to lead the Israelites out of slavery and punished Egypt with 10 supernatural plagues, the final one being the death of all their firstborn sons which was the origin of the Passover, still celebrated in Jewish homes today. So the first recorded revolt against racist, oppressive slavery in ancient history was in the Bible and it was led by God.
You are an atheist and will always rage against Christians, God and the Bible, I get it. Have a great day.
Yes indeed it was the ancient Israelites first mentioned in the Old Testament as being "the first victims of brutal, un-Biblical slavery at the hands of the Egyptians." The quoted text are your words.
However and because of the sizable population on earth during and before this time, I've always been curious if the Israelites were the first in-slaved population, or were there other group/s of people/s/tribes that were also in-slaved, but didn't make the cut when the Old Testament was written? I believe that what is written, is true and was done to the Israelites by the Egyptians. However I'm having a hard time believing, knowing how cruel our ancient ancestors could be, that no other tribe/society didn't suffer a similar fate like the Israelites did, before the Israelites did.
It's a shame written history doesn't go back to the dawn of mankind. There are a lot of hidden history/mysteries regarding they very beginning of ourselves that we'll never know and I personally feel it's a darned shame. I'd love to know, maybe or maybe not how things shook out back in the day. Having this knowledge might go a long way explaining why and how humanity does/doesn't get along the way we do today.
Does anybody else ever think/have thoughts along these lines? Or do I need to seek professional help? ;-)
