What a joke. Steph can shoot 3 pointers, but as an actual basketball player, I am not sure he can hold LeBron's jock. Curry will live to regret this statement, as I am not done with this...

Yes, anyone who has been watching Curry play this year knows it's true. I'm not sure why he needs to state it though. It's obvious.
The high volume + high efficiency offense he's displaying right now is unprecedented. He's the best right now.

The question is best player not best shooter or scorer
He is super-talented as a shooter and is also a fine passer. However, that is as far as it goes and he can and probably will be taken out by a rough play at any time. LeBron is a complete player and subordinates his statistics for the team and the playoffs.
His defensive stats are quite good actually.
His incredible shooting and scoring make him the most impactful player in the NBA. Dumb-ass.
Truth is the league is watered down because if you touch a player these days you can get fouled. This has made guys like Curry flourish in the perimeter. Then he can come into the lane and do his little stupid dance and get fouled every time or get a free pass for teams in foul trouble.
Imagine Curry playing with pre-2005 (remember Ron Artest vs Ben Wallace famous fight?) NBA rules and coming down the lane with the likes of Hakeem or Ewing towering over him. He'd be on the ground with a concussion.
You have a guy lighting you up on the perimeter or driving to the lane every time? No problem - the enforcer would take care of that. Yea - they had enforcers back then. Charles Oakley, Xavier Mcdaniel, Dennis Rodman. Teams knew how to take care of guys like Steph Curry.
The Pistons were doing exactly this when Jordan was starting to become big - then he bulked up and brought the fight to the league.
Robert Horry agrees players are soft nowadays:

So - in summary stick a friggin hand in Curry's face. If he still makes the shot curl that hand into a fist and let it fly.
Every great player will state that they're the best

Curry's a better offensive player. He scores 31.8 points a night on 20 shots while LeBron only scores 26.5 points on 20 shots. They have about the same number of assists.
Curry is great defensively and is 4th in the league in steals. I'm not sure how to quantify LeBrons defense.
Subjectively, I'll take Curry any day. Every single game, he does things you've never seen before. In that way, he's sort of like Jordon was in his younger days. Except Jordon had highlight dunks, not circus shots.
LeBron's game is to drive to the lane and dare people to take a charge. He's either going to score or put the opposing center in the hospital. Not all that exciting.
This isn't a knock at Stephen Curry, but if you take him over Lebron James you're an idiot.
Foo is foolish for taking Curry over Lebron. Curry is great but there are other great PGs. There's only one Lebron.
If LeBron and Curry were traded for each other right now, which team benefits? Obviously Golden State benefits, and that is why Curry should keep his mouth shut.
I love Curry and I have since he was an overlooked player in the early days at Davidson and even in the NBA, when I thought he should have been drafted far higher. Nevertheless, the pendulum swings and currently everyone is too high on him, whereas they were not high enough on him before. Look at what happened to GS with Thompson out recently. They struggled against weak teams and lost to Milw after barely beating the Celtics in multiple OT's, and in the process Curry, being physically bodied, struggled. LeBron has carried teams every year in the league, whereas Curry's Warriors have only been great the past year+. Moreover, the Warriors have actually had a very weak schedule so far this year. It will get tougher, including multiple games against the Spurs and other good teams. Steals matter but are not always indicative of great defense. LeBron typically shoots a much higher percentage from the field and typically has gotten to the line a lot more (multiple years over 10 attempts per game--this is Curry's first year with over ten attempts per game from the line), offsetting the 3's quite a bit, he is a far, far better rebounder, successfully defends nearly every position, which Curry certainly cannot do, and is a comparable passer. Lebron's career averages are at 27/7/7 with .8 blocks and 1.7 steals, shooting just under 50% from the field and 34% from 3, 77% from ft, whereas Curry's at 21/6.8/4.2 with .2 blocks and 1.7 steals, .475 fg, .90 ft, .44 3 pt. Career value is beyond dispute and LeBron's played twice as many regular season games.

I would say the statement is true right now. Btw, he is also an above average passer, defender and who the heck cares how he scores his points.
Curry > LBJ any day
Golden State is essentially a perfect basketball team. Green provides a lot of what LeBron provides. So GS wouldn't make that trade. Curry is the greatest shooter OF ALL TIME.

How are they "a perfect basketball team"? Do you know what that means? Golden State is unlikely to win the NBA title next June and they would be heavy favorites with LeBron instead of Curry leading them.
They don't need LeBron to be heavy favorites, they already are. Golden State is going to win the championship this year and next year as well. They're the next dynasty. They have a legitimate chance to beat the Bulls 70 wins record too. The way they play basketball is perfect. They have amazing ball movement, player movement, and maximize their attempts on the best shots in basketball: the three pointer, rim attempts, and free throws. They do it better than anybody. When they play Curry/Thompson/Iguodala/Bares/Green it's called the "death lineup" for a reason. That's a small ball unit that is IMPOSSIBLE to match up with and one no other team could replicate. We're witnessing on of the all time great teams here, get your head out of your ass and appreciate them. You might learn a thing or two as well. Bookmark this, and bump it in June after they win the title again.
