As noted in the title, my BP when I went for my annual physical was 130/75. It was actually a little higher last year at 132/76. If it matters, resting heart rate is around 60.
I run maybe 15-20 miles per week, and I ran throughout high school. I wanted to try and get my numbers to the recommended low, so I ate a lot healthier and am now 150lbs at 5'8" (a BMI around 22.9%) down from 168lbs. In terms of everything else, the doctor said I'm at their target range.
I've been to two doctors, neither seem concerned about the issue. Haven't really tested it at home or anything. Should I be concerned? I just can't believe that my diet didn't have more of an impact... I don't smoke, drink a small amount of red wine on occasion, I'm not terribly stressed about anything, just a little anxious about this whole blood pressure thing.
I plan to start running more - again, just not seeing where I can improve. Maybe some weight training too?
Thanks.
