Only 16 years old, wow. I wonder how it compared to DeGrasse's recent signing.

You're kidding right? I'd think she'd be lucky to get 10% of De Grasse for the following reasons.
1) She's run 10.98 with a 2.0 wind so she needs to improve a ton to medal.
2) She's a 16-year old female so it's possible she gets slower, not faster.
3) It's women's sprinting, not men's. Maybe Asics figures she can be a crossover star like Felix but good luck with that.
Here's an SI article on her signing:
http://www.si.com/more-sports/2015/12/17/candace-hill-turns-professional-signs-asics-fastest-high-school-sprinterNike lost another Super Talent. She is the real deal. Her 10.98 was not a fluke. She ran 11.08 in the final at World's with no wind. She also ran 22.48 into a headwind. If you have ever watched her run and seen her build she is not close to fully developed or the type of athlete that gets worse. She is long and lanky. She might become the female Bolt.
I'm surprised at the 10 year deal. I would like to see the details of the contract, because I feel like she might have gotten screwed.

.
Bolt, while not lanky, was quite skinny as a youth. I think she will hopefully have similar progression. She has a similar build to Allyson Felix. I bet she'll be faster, especially considering she's 3 inches taller.
Her agent is Mark Wetmore. She did not get screwed on contract.
Hopefully she got a good contract like Usain Bolt and Andre DeGrassi have, if not as a PRO she can always create a GOFUNDME account, which does not get much money now, but when fans know they can contribute to their favorite athletes it will eventually be bigger than any shoe contract could ever be, Example it is safe to say Jordan Hasay has had over 1 million fans since high school, so if each of those fans would contribute $120 a year or $10 a month, a very reasonable amount most can easily afford that would be $120 million a year or about 5 x more than the salary of the highest paid player in the NBA, or more than the yearly payroll of any NBA team.
GOFUNDME when it is advertised better will make a lot of Track stars rich and yes many track and field stars will be billionaires in 20-30 years.
GOFUNDME is the greatest thing to ever happen for track and field athletes.
Who would give $10 a month to an athlete??? I'm sure there's some crowdfunding power there but most people when it comes down to it won't give up money
I wouldn't pay anyone I follow on instagram

Anyone who is a fan would, so they can help the athletes out, I have done it.
Yeah I agree.People might do a one time donation but for the most part these fans are going to be young enough to where $10 wont be something they are willing to go out of there way to donate.
I see runners on facebook putting up Gofundme pages and the popular ones may get a few thousand but nothing much more than that.

I'm curious... Your responded to the OP with "You're kidding right?" and I am wondering why you felt the need to be so condescending. Why not simply respond to the question with your three points and leave it at that? (Incidentally, there was really no need to end your 3rd point with "but good luck with that" either.) Was the OP's question really that ridiculous?
So...Does it make you feel better about yourself when you depict another person as a being a dumba$$, or are you just an incredible A-hole?

Very often those two things go hand in hand.

The NY Times reports that she got a 10-year deal. I would love to see the contract as it must have been hard as hell to write up. If you are Asics, you want to be guaranteed to get the upside of paying HIll at this age if she becomes a world beater. But if you are Hill, you also want to get paid a ton if you are the world #1. And of course if she flops, there'd have to be reductions but i imagine she got a big guarantee.
Do you all think it's just got a ton of options for medals and what not?

Maybe, maybe not. I didn't believe it when I read in the NY times that 10.98 would have won silver in 2008 but it's true. In 2012, only 6 women broke 11 at the Olympics.
With increased drug testing and no Russian women to worry about, anything in the 10s is going to be fairly competitive. Flo-Jo sadly ruined what we think is reasonable for women's sprinting.
I just finished the whole NY Times article. I found on thing odd.

And then a few paragraphs later is says she has a new coach.

One thing that has changed is Hill’s training: She began working with a new coach 10 weeks ago, moving to Tony Carpenter after her record-setting sprint in June. (Asics says it will not influence her coaching choices but will help support them.) Carpenter will collaborate with her high school coach and others.
Who coached her last year? Changing coaches seems like a big deal to me.
As a former coach, it infuriates me her HS coach isn't even mentioned. So some guy coaches her to a 10.98 and gets zero mention by name.
My problem with the NYT article was a part that had nothing to do with Hall:
Allyson Felix turned professional instead of running for the University of Southern California in 2003, going on to become one of the most successful American sprinters in history. Felix remained the only track athlete to bypass college for professional running until a decade later, when the middle-distance runner Mary Cain signed with Nike in 2013 at age 17 before enrolling at the University of Portland. She opened the floodgates.
Cain was followed by the distance runner Alexa Efraimson, who signed with Nike at age 17 in 2014. Earlier this year, Kaylin Whitney, who set the high school 100-meter record before Hill shattered it, signed with Nike on her 17th birthday. The middle-distance runner Ajee’ Wilson turned pro right after high school instead of competing in college in 2012.
How did Cain "open the floodgates" when Wilson turned pro before her?
I really hope she got a good deal with guaranteed money and lots of potential bonuses. Does Asics have any other high profile runners besides Lolo?
Girls running...
I don't believe it is possible for her to continue to work with her high school coach here in GA as she will not be on the team and is a pro. Not completely up on those rules but I know in season I would not be able to work with any athletes from another school - my guess is that extends to runners not on the team as well. As far as not mentioning her old coach - I agree with you.
