So in his epic 1993 song 'I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)', it was never revealed exactly what he wouldn't do for love.
Any suggestions what he wouldn't do?

Wear shorts over tights
It was revealed. You just have to listen to the song. Everytime he says "But I won't do that", its in response to the previous verse. "And I'll never forget the way you feel right now, oh no, no way", then he goes to say "I would do anything for love..." yadda yadda. Hes saying he would do anything for love, but he will never forget the way she feels right now.
I think this song speaks to the inner Meatloaf in all of us. There is something that each of would not do, even for love.
dude knew how to write a hook, didn't he.

It was an effective hook but it really didn't make that much sense. Love wouldn't make you forget the way you feel nor would it cause you to cheat.
But as long as something is song well and with conviction, it seem good.
This question was posed and answered on here years ago. Ass to mouth.

Jim Steinman did. Meat Loaf couldn't write his own name.
You remember threads from years ago?
You're expecting rock lyrics to make sense?
Meatloaf wasn't as committed to love as Bryan Adams. In "Everything I Do, I Do It For You," Adams reveals that not only "I'd die for you" but also "I'd lie for you."

He could sing the sh1t out of it, though. And what an entertainer... His arrangement with Jim Steinman wasn't unparalleled. Elton John and Bernie Taupin come to mind, although I would guess that Elton did more writing than Mr. Loaf did.

We all know what happened when Elton John started writing his own songs... we got the disgraceful fvcking rewrite of Candle in the Wind dedicated to Princess Diana. Taupin must have vomited in his tea when he heard that one.
I always laugh when I look at the track listing for Elton John "greatest hits" albums. A bunch of great Bernie Taupin songs and a few Elton John stinkers. Elton could perform like a muthafvcka, though, and so could Meatloaf!
https://youtu.be/NwV5e2YcNfYHas anyone ever noticed that the singer for Future Islands just totally rips off Meatloaf and no one seems to care?
I am not a Meatloaf fan at all. I know exactly one of his songs and enjoyed his performance in Fight Club, but even I noticed the imitation on the Letterman show the first night Future Islands played. I said to my wife, "He is acting just like Meatloaf." The next day, he is all over the internet and no one seemed to notice that he was just acting like Meatloaf.
Can't Millennials do anything original?
Jim Steinman wrote that, not Meatloaf. Jim said in a later interview that the thing he would not do is go down on a girl

He is gay, that is why.

He was lying.
Once a liar, always a liar... She knew that if he would lie for her, he'd also lie to her. He ruined it with that line. It was over before it even began. Poor guy.
And then Ryan Adams comes along and steals his thunder:
