800m: 1:54.2 set in 1979 in the 880y and converted. 1600m: 4:05.96 from '80, also converted. The records in sprints and field events are almost as impressive. This was when my school (6A Kansas just outside Kansas City) was an absolute monster in track/cross. There was an insane coach who drove his athletes to either greatness or injury, and I'm talking three or four hard interval sessions a week. Nobody has come even remotely close to those records in decades, mostly because all the talented athletes today play soccer or football, but also because we have much lower standards and expectations.
12.8 secs 100m. age 11. End of days. Nuff said.
9th grade 4x440yds. 3:38+; 4x440yds. high school record, 3:25+; one mile, 4:08.9
Pentathlon: 3013 pts I believe
High Jump: 1.95m
4x800m Relay: ~8:10 (my one and only 800; last I knew it was also our League Record)
Looking back, I wish I would have done middle distance training. I might have been able to run a pretty solid open 800.
800m: 1:56.4
1600m: 4:16.1
3200m: 9:28.6
4x800m: 8:15.2!!!!!!!!
Funny 800 record story is that it had stood for over 20 years, having been held by a miler (same one who ran 4:16) who ran it off a double ~4 hours after a mile.
The kid who broke it a couple years ago had gone for the mile record only 45 minutes earlier (missed it by over 5s)
Kid told me he didn't think about the 800 record until he finished the race.
Same kid had a sub-2:00 teammate and they couldn't find two more kids to break the 4x8
by the way our 800 program sucks...all the kids who run well are moving down from the mile or even the 32

Brutal.
were you quoting me to try and one up my school records??? ill let you know that my high school has had the most footlocker finalists in the history of the race across both guys and girls. In addition to this we had much more impressive sprinter records than our distance program as we have had an Olympic hurdler with a gold medal.

Small school in the middle of no where. I doubt those records will ever be broken.

It's a public school that hovers between 150-200 enrollment.
Boy's records are nothing special, but the girls (all from the 70s) are pretty good for a small rural school.

1600 - 4:16
3200 - 9:13
