I was having an intense conversation with a much slower runner (think 5+ hour marathoner) about running GPS Watches. He is one of those "gotta have the latest and greatest" types who believes that all of the features of the newer watches are necessary. My argument was that some features maybe, but do you really need a color screen? Vibration/Bluetooth alerts? Virtual Running Partner?
I realize this is a subjective question, as many will say "Oh just use a Timex" or some other brand name stopwatch. Many others will tell you "Heart Rate Monitor of some sort".
There is no right answer, but I'd like to hear from you what baseline requirements would be for a running watch. Pretend as if you were building it for yourself. Just a healthy discussion since I know this site has a wide range of people (ages, skill levels, etc).
