good
Great news.
I applaud this move. Thanks for sharing.
Scott Walker has also neglected to serve in the US Army combat infantry.
You do realize they were kicked off for refusing to LOOK for work?
Wait. These people wanted free government help and were unwilling to look for jobs....
What kind of animal is Scott Walker?
We should give these poor people more. They really aren't meant to work or do anything meaningful.
This thread is full of bleeding-heart Conservative pigs. I'm not surprised.
"It requires able-bodied adults without children living at home to work at least 80 hours a month or look for work to stay in the program. Participants can get three months of FoodShare benefits before being kicked out of the program IF THEY DECLINE TO LOOK FOR WORK."
How could anybody argue that this is a bad thing?

Eating is required for life to exist.
Nice trap thread.
Even as a liberal, I thinks it's good to incentivize able bodied people to try to work for welfare.
I feel differently about deadbeats with kids because you don't want to punish the kids.
Eating is required for life to exist, but nowhere does it say anyone owes you food for simply existing. This is the U.S., not Africa or India...there are jobs available and all Wisconsin is saying is make the minimal effort to look for one. I am an independent voter who votes for candidates from both parties, not some hard core right winger. Like the poster above I don't see how this is a bad thing.
Now that they can't spend all their time eating, they'll have the energy to look for a job. It was fillet mignons and Alaskan crab legs, but now its going to be 9 to 5s. This move should save Wisconsin billions.

Hey, let's turn our heads as poor people starve. Sounds like fun!

Okay, you repeated yourself already so I'll bite. No one starves in America unless it's intentional. Even if you can't pass the low, low bar of applying for a job to receive food stamps, there are soup kitchens galore, which is why so many homeless people are fat. There are even hipster "freegans" that intentionally eat all their (surprisingly good) food from the dumpster.
Just yesterday, I offered a homeless guy with an "anything helps" sign a fresh loaf of bread and he turned it down because he doesn't like sourdough, so please spare us your starvation nonsense.
"Food stamps" like "Teachers and firefighters" are commonly used by the Left to justify their policies. The fact of the matter is, food stamp/SNAP abuse/fraud is rampant in our society. The strategy of demonizing someone who says otherwise is equivalent to using human-shields to protect terrorists. But in a lot of ways, today's American Liberal is in many ways a terrorist.

That's hilarious. So, a person refuses to do anything to provide for their basic needs and we are supposed to support them and feel sorry for them? If a person refuses to do the bare minimum to help themselves, why should society help them at all? That's just a person who is a drag on everyone else and has no redeeming value. Again, this not a person who can't find a job, but someone who refuses to even *look* for one.
Cut them loose and let Darwinism handle the rest.

So you are against demonizing in the next to last sentence then you are for it again in the last sentence.
9/10
Wow, he just created 15,000 new homeless people. That means real jobs as far as conservatives are concerned; collecting cans, dumpster diving, panhandling, begging for money on busy street medians.
They should receive absolutely nothing from the state.
Unfortunately, in the real world, what this means is that there will be more and more people showing up to businesses, just asking for a signature. It already happens frequently.
