I just scored a Nike Impossibly Light running jacket for $55 from JackRabbit.com.
I can handle cold, and rain, but not cold rain.
Anyone find any other great deals online?

Great thread. I don't know. I'm holding out for Monday. Although I have everything running wise I'd ever need. Maybe get some wool runnning socks for the winter?
I too am interested in deals tomorrow. Anyone know where some gear will be cheap?

You do realize that this jacket is only water-resistant and NOT waterproof, right? This means you will still be cold and wet. In a downpour, you'll be soaked after about 10 minutes, at most. In light rain, probably 30.
Nice catch - I was thinking it would provide more protection, though it's not being wet that bothers me, it's the actual contact of cold raindrops on my skin that I hate. I think this will still get the job done for me.

Can you really use waterproof jackets for running? If they don't breath well you will be soaked with sweat. Waterproof doesn't breath enough for running, right?

Most of them do say 'water resistant' for light to moderate rain. Very few claim to be 100% waterproof. I guess I hadn't though of the sweat factor - though even in cold weather, that would be an issue without ventilation.

That's the problem facing all waterproof jackets...they don't breath well at all, IF it is truly waterproof. I was once explained it like this: If a fabric/laminate/membrane is thick enough to not let water in from the outside then how would that same fabric/laminate/membrane let water out? it would get stuck..
Gore-Tex, eVent and others have spent MILLIONS trying to figure this out...and no one has really succeeded..
They are having a great sale 30% off plus another 30%. Great deal!
brooks launch for $30- from sierratradingpost.com
I'm looking for socks and gloves. Not exactly a deal, I need a brand /model. Ideas? Winters here get as cold as 0F.
kind of... moisture vapor can indeed escape from inside the garment IF (and only if) the outside humidity is lower than that inside the garment (moisture is moving from an area of high to low concentration). Unfortunately in most rainy conditions the outside humidity is obviously quite high thus negating a lot of potential moisture vapor transfer.the best jackets i have found have several venting mechanisms to allow air in and moisture out. what your're wearing under the jacket also has significant effects on the microclimate inside the garment.one thing I have found that really helps me out is having a waterproof cap. If I can keep my noggin somewhat dry I definitely feel better.
