I'm in a turkey trot tomorrow with some really good runners - I'm talking about people who have run 10k's and even a couple halfs. I don't want to seem like a complete newbie so how should I warm up?

Show up drunk wearing jeans. Run 34 minutes exerting no real effort and impress everyone.
wear a runnersworld shirt to show that you ate right last night

I usually just use the microwave.
First, go out now and buy shoes at Kohls for the "big race" tomorrow. Next, no matter what temperature, dress for at least 30 degrees colder than it actually is, which means lots of layering. Third if the event starts at 8, be at the start no later than 6:30 and do as many strides as possible for the next 90 minutes to warm up. Fourth, about 30 minutes prior to the event strap on the 4 bottle fuel belt and start consuming Powerbars and gels. Fifth, about 15 minutes prior to the start, position yourself at the start line, front and center. And last take up as much room as possible on the course the first mile. Those idiots doing 5:30 miles need to run around you waddling thru your 10:15 opening mile before pulling over at a water stop to massage a cramp.
The rest of the day post on social media how "you were that close" to getting a pie by finishing in the top 1000.
Oh man I almost forgot to pack my fuel belt!
If it's a cold morning, I start my car about 15 minutes before the race and let it idle until the gun goes off.
I get all the warmth I need once I fire up the pure hate
