Met a great girl and turns out that while she's into fitness, she can't break 25 mins for a 5K.
I'm a 14:12 guy, can I possibly date this girl?

I would say no. You guys just aren't compatible with that kind of time discrepancy.
No
It is possible, meaning it is allowed. But you seem like a douche troll, so she probably doesn't exist.
I feel compelled to tell you that having a 14:12 5k PR pretty much guarantees that you don't look like much without your shirt on, so give the young lady a break for not being fleet of foot.
If she could run 16:00 do you think she would be on here making a thread asking if she could date a guy whose PR was worse than hers on a relative basis?

Absolutely. I\'m a girl, and y PR is 15:58. I would never consider dating a guy like the OP who can\'t at least sneak under 14:00. If he had something else to offer, say a sub-4 mile or maybe in the 1:46-1:47 neighborhood in the 800, I might consider it. Might.
Pics?
Guys who cant break 14:00 5K can't get girls. You are a hobby jogger. Go to runnersworld
Is she a sprinter, jumper, vaulter or hurdler?
If she can clear 6 feet, her 5k PR no longer matters.
Why wouldn't you? Sounds like she is reasonably fit and probably doesn't have a body like a 10 year old boy.
Sure, if she's willing to train to get faster.
if she's into "fitness" but not into "running training", a 25min 5k is not the worst. it would be another thing if she did intervals, tempo runs, long runs, whatever and still ran that 25 minutes. i think your question is "can i date someone who is not a serious runner?". there is a spectrum ... fatty ---> "into fitness" ---> serious runner (with lots of other steps in between obvi). you gotta decide what your priority is on that spectrum and if it's a "must have".
for what it's worth, in 11th grade, that was approx my (xc 5k) PR. a couple years later with many miles under me, i ran a 3:20 marathon. not claiming to be elite obviously but the point is some people (me) don't have natural talent but instead it just takes a lot of cumulative time/miles to improve. so you have to really love it first, then put in time, and then you get better over a longer time scale. if she hasn't been running for a super long time but really enjoys it, she could be a much different person than a 25min 5ker down the road.
Maybe you should ask your mommy this question.
Of course you can date her. That's what dating is, right? To find out if there's a match.
It's not difficult.
That is a pretty bad 5k, but what can she clear in the pole vault?
Or you could have a life outside of running?
That's like a weightlifter being worried about how much his girl can bench. Who cares? does she look good? Rock it then.
Impossible to date someone like that...
I don't know why not, but trust me, it's impossible.
Can somebody explain to me why a 5k pr matters at all when picking a partner? There was a girl here not to long ago that said she couldn't date any guy slower than her. What type of advantage does running fast have in life? In college running fast may make you a rockstar among a very very small cohort, but after college in the real world it means absolutely nothing. For men, physical strength and for women beauty mean more.
Sure you can, but say good bye to your running career. She will start running with you once or twice a week, pretty soon you are running together 4-5 times a week. Tempo those three mile runs at around 28 minutes or so, add in a weekly long run of 6 miles in an hour, and you will be running in the 17s before you know it.
If you are trying to create a generation of super runners, you should avoid procreating with her. If you are obsessed with yourself and your running (as your time and post would indicate), and don't want your GF/spouse to interfere with your running, you need to marry / date someone who is selfless and won't mind if you indulge in your self gratifying life habit.
