I coach college runners. I have a runner who complains of his legs being really tired on runs that should be easy. We checked his iron, ferritin and TSH which all were good. His diet is great and he gets on average 7 hours of sleep. He is not over-trained running 50-55 MPW and his stress levels are low. He keeps saying it feels like his legs are fatigued not necessarily sore. It has always been his legs (last 8 weeks) that he complains about.
Does anyone have any idea of what is happening?
The kid is smart and I don't think it has anything to do psychologically. How can this only be in his legs? Is it some disease? muscle breakdown?
ANy thoughts is greatly appreciated.
