It is the left that has been most vocal in criticising Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states' atrocious human rights records; and who have called to reduce the boatloads of cash and weapons that right wingers want to send their way.

What the left is opposed to is the way right wingers generalise about the religion as if it was some monolithic entity, and use this to stir up ethnic hatred against muslims.

Due to this, you get complete idiots like Christia Freeland selected as Minister of International Trade. I saw her in an interview recently, debating the refugee crisis, and she was made to look like a complete and utter fool by the other members of the panel. Having her representing Canada abroad makes me embarassed to be Canadian. Based off of what I've heard, Catherine McKenna - Minister of Environment and Climate Change is not the sharpest tool in the shed, herself.

I wish I could find that discussion that Freeland was a part of, as it is very relevant to the thread title.
